Similar to games like “Harvest Moon,” among the many great things about “Stardew Valley” is giving players the opportunity to interact with the in-game characters and fulfill their quests for you.
One of those quests is finding Linus’ Blackberry Basket. Linus is a villager in the game. He resides in a tent north of the town above the carpenter shop on a cliff that faces the river. He loves living his solitary life, but he is still longing to participate in town events. What’s keeping him? Well, he believes he will not be welcomed by other people in town, sadly.
What Is This Basket All About?
This Basket of Linus is for Blackberries, and he’s missing it, so you will need to help him find it. Once found and returned to Linus, though there will be no monetary or gold rewards, you will earn a friendship heart with this villager since he will be grateful for your help. Collecting hearts is necessary to access more recipes in the game, and you don’t want to miss them.
How do you actually find Linus’ Blackberry Basket? Keep reading.
Starting The Quest
During the fall season of your first year in Stardew Valley, you will receive a letter from Linus in your mailbox informing you that it’s now the season for Blackberries. But he has a problem – he can’t find his Blackberry Basket, so you need to help him find it so he can collect Blackberries.
Below is the actual letter from Linus.
Note: This letter arrives on the eighth day regardless of your friendship level with Linus.
Finding Linus’ Blackberry Basket
Some say this quest is tricky, but we say here on PVP Live that it’s actually very easy, provided you know where to look. All you need to do is approach the Bus Station located right from your farm. Once you’re in there, simply follow the street toward the left until you enter the Backwoods area’s lower section.
Linus’ Blackberry Basket is in this area. But, since it has a brownish shade, it cannot be easy to spot. Nonetheless, you can find his missing Basket on the street’s upper side (not New York’s Upper East Side, alright?), just next to a few bushes outside the Tunnel entrance.
Now, you will have to click on the Basket. Once you have that in your inventory, the next step is to find Linus and return the Basket to him.
Locating Linus And Returning His Blackberry Basket
It is normal to get confused about who is who when it’s your first time playing “Stardew Valley.” Such as Linus, who does not live in Pelican Town’s central areas.
As you read about earlier, he is a villager residing in a tiny tent nearby the mines. During fall, you can find him near the Spa, near his tent, or on the lake’s left side.
But here’s where it gets tricky. Linus’ location varies according to the season, when during the day, and if it’s raining or not.
So, if you have his Blackberry Basket and are on your way to giving it back to him, it will be helpful to know his schedule. Here are the details.
Linus’ Schedule
Linus isn’t a celebrity (duh), but he keeps a busy schedule. Below is his schedule on normal days.
- 6:00 a.m. – Linus is inside his tent.
- 7:00 a.m. – He is standing behind the bush located on the left side of his tent.
- 7:40 a.m. – He is located on the left of the fireplace in front of the tent.
- 9:00 a.m. – He makes his way to the Spa, which is on the right side of the building.
- 2:00 p.m. – He is relaxing on the left side of the lake.
- 6:00 p.m. – He goes back to this tent.
If it’s raining, here’s Linus’ schedule.
- 6:00 a.m. – He is in his tent.
- 9:30 a.m. – He is standing behind the bush located on the left side of his tent.
- 10:10 a.m. – He comes back to his tent.
- 3:00 p.m. – He stands beneath the tree on his tent’s left side.
- 7:00 p.m. – He returns to his tent.
Final Words
This quest can be tricky for others, and whether for this reason or because some “Stardew Valley” players think it’s a waste of time to interact with him, they won’t pay much attention to the old man Linus. But if you appreciate collecting friendship hearts, this quest is worth checking out.
