As the iPhone 15 series’ launch date keeps drawing to a close, the plot is just thickening with the rumors and speculations about the phones’ features.
Usually, Apple keeps mum about the features of their upcoming phones. The official information only comes out once the phones are officially launched. So, breathing life into the curiosities of the consumers are leakers. These leakers often release juicy details on the new phones’ features, but they are taking a detour this time.
A credible Apple leaker has warned against iPhone 15, saying consumers should wait for iPhone 16 instead if they don’t want to be disappointed. Quite interesting, right? Here’s the news report.
Warning vs. iPhone 15
Unknownz21 (@URedditor), an influential leaker in the industry who has consistently provided accurate details about iPhone’s last generations, has warned users about the iPhone 15 lineup.
They tweeted, “The entire 15 lineup is worth skipping – base models especially. Not because of any defects, it’s too mediocre of an upgrade. I wish I could elaborate, but I can’t… (emoji)”
They may be unable to elaborate further, but they provided hints as to why they cannot. Unknownz21 told the story about Analyst941, whose sibling who works for Apple was fired.
Analyst941 said Apple once shared inaccurate but slightly different information with several employees. When they leaked the details they received, Apple promptly fired Analyst941’s sibling, and this leaker subsequently deleted their account online.
Skip iPhone 15, wait for iPhone 16
Furthermore, Unknownz21 also added more meat to the controversies, telling consumers to skip iPhone 15 and just wait for iPhone 16, the best decision they are ever going to make.
The leaker responded to a follower who advised this iPhone 13 Pro owner looking to upgrade to a Pro Max unit to just wait for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
“Coming from the iPhone 13 Pro, would you recommend me to buy an iPhone 15 Pro Max or wait for the iPhone 16 Pro Max?” @AliRa040 asked @URedditor.
The leaker responded, saying, “I’d wait – you’d get a larger display with the 16 Pro Max, along with two other things which I can’t comment on.”
@AliRa040 continued, saying, “Are other things that you don’t want to reveal worth waiting and upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro Max?”
Unknownz21 responded, “Not necessarily useful, but they’re neat features, I suppose. Rather distinct. Imo it’s worth the wait just because of the screen size alone.”
Moreover, Unknownz21 also previously released photos showing the iPhone 15 series models will be a cheaper version of the iPhone 14 Pro, as they would be allegedly using last year’s A16 chipset and moving over to the Dynamic Island punch-hole design.
The leaker also revealed the new periscope lens for iPhone 15 Pro Max and Apple’s decision to renege on its ambitious solid-state volume buttons for both Pro units. USB-C is also being locked down after Apple received a warning from the European Union on open standards.
How about you? Would you believe what these leakers are saying?
The iPhone 15 units are reportedly coming out this September 2023, while the iPhone 16 units are reportedly launching on September 2024.
