As we’re all aware by now, 2021 was a massive year for cryptocurrency, so much so that the industry even impacted careers. According to LinkedIn, crypto-related job searches skyrocketed last year, increasing by 395% within the USA alone. Notably, the crypto industry also surpassed the general tech industry, which experienced incredible development last year.

However, with its 98% growth, the tech industry is incomparable to crypto jobs, which saw a massive increase of 395%. Moreover, cryptocurrency seeped into most industries, and they couldn’t escape from its hold and appeal. The LinkedIn News stated the following regarding this matter:

It seems that this trend will keep on increasing this year, and it doesn’t look like it’s stopping or slowing down anytime soon. For one thing, major crypto exchanges are chock-full of job posts these days. Some examples include Kraken with more than 300 openings, Binance with over 600 openings, and Coinbase with more than 250 openings.

The maximalists who are into Bitcoin (BTC) now have a new resource called Bitcoiner Jobs. This service helps connect Bitcoin investors with Bitcoin-only companies and already offers nearly 100 Satoshi-approved jobs. There’s an ongoing HR trend known as crypto remuneration for those who are having a difficult time transitioning into crypto-related jobs.

In 2021, NYC and Miami mayors announced that they would start accepting a portion of their pay in Bitcoin. Not only that, but seven NFL players also chose crypto over cash salaries.

But even though the crypto career sector seems to be gaining popularity and more people are looking to switch jobs, LinkedIn users are not as convinced. Most of the comments left on the LinkedIn post were from confused audiences wondering why crypto even has value. There was also one frustrated copywriter who protested against the crypto industry and its scam-like nature.
