Death Stranding Director’s Cut Horrifying Silent Hill Easter Egg Discovered

Players of the recently released Death Stranding Director’s Cut have uncovered an Easter egg that refers to P.T, the Silent Hills game’s aborted demo. The star-studded Kojima Productions blockbuster Death Stranding Director’s Cut is an enhanced version of the 2019 original release, with extra features, objectives, and gameplay choices.

Before producing Death Stranding, renowned game creator Hideo Kojima was supposed to direct a reboot of Silent Hill’s iconic survival horror series, but Konami shelved the project. Silent Hills would have starred Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead and Guillermo Del Toro.

The 2014 horror project was launched with a playable demo called “P.T,” however the demo was removed from the PlayStation Store when the game was cancelled, making it nearly hard for gamers to get. Due to the demo’s originality and effect on video game horror, several parts of P.T have been replicated in other major titles, notably Watch Dogs: Legion.

Suzi Hunter, a Twitter user, posted a screenshot of the P.T. and Silent Hills Easter eggs in the new Death Stranding Director’s Cut. Hunter’s picture, which can be seen in the safe room’s shower, depicts the shape of a lady cloaked in darkness, as a homage to Lisa, the ghost-like opponent from the Silent Hills demo.

While the Death Stranding “ghost” does not appear to be an identical duplicate of Lisa, it does appear to be an obvious allusion to the canceled game and its playable teaser. According to many users, the lady does not present in the standard version of Death Stranding, and her appearance in the shower appears to have no impact on the new release’s added material.

The picture of P.T’s Lisa has made a sensation on Twitter, but this isn’t the first time the character has appeared in a Kojima game that isn’t P.T. Lisa also appears in another Kojima game, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, from 2015. Snake can utilize the character model as a decoy. However, the MGS 5 Lisa is similar to the one shown in P.T, rather than merely the outline seen in the new Death Stranding.

While the P.T allusion in Death Stranding Director’s Cut is a lovely homage to horror aficionados, it’s doubtful that the Easter egg is much more than a throwback to a previous Kojima effort. The Silent Hills IP remains with Konami after the two parted ways on sour terms, while Kojima established his own business, Kojima Productions.

Fans of the Silent Hill series hoping for a new game may be in luck, as Bloober Team, the studio behind The Medium and Layers of Fear, is working on a new Silent Hill resurrection, but this is said to be working on a new Silent Hill resurrection has yet to be confirmed.
