Dark, scary, cunning, intriguing, and witty – these adjectives describe what “Wednesday” is all about, one of the biggest and trendiest series on Netflix during the latter part of 2022.

Apart from Wednesday Addams herself, the series has many interesting characters, such as the Hyde monster, that evil beast coexisting inside a person’s apparently positive personality. In this article, we will delve deeper into the Hyde monster, which has inarguably become one of the most interesting characters in the story.

“Wednesday” is a Netflix series based on the character Wednesday Addams by Charles Addams. Quite beguiling? What’s even more captivating is how four out of eight episodes were directed by Tim Burton. Yes, the man behind “Edward Scissorhands,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Corpse Bride,” “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” “Batman Returns,” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” among other works. He also served as “Wednesday’s” executive producer.

The story of “Wednesday” revolves around Wednesday, who wishes to solve a murder mystery in her new school.

It features a stellar cast that includes Jenna Ortega, of course, as Wednesday, as well as Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems, Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott, Jamie McShane as Donovan Galpin, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, among many others.

The first season may have ended, but that did not stop fans from continuously talking about the series, such as discussions on characters like the Hyde monster.

Who Is The Hyde Monster In ‘Wednesday’?

First things first, what is a Hyde monster? A Hyde monster pertains to an evil beast coexisting inside an apparently positive personality. The inspiration for this character comes from a classic horror novel from the 19th century, representing a cultured element that supports the plot of “Wednesday.”

Who is the Hyde monster in the series? While Wednesday was researching and ruling out the monster terrorizing their school, a visiting Uncle Fester identified that the creature was a Hyde monster. Uncle Fester explained to Wednesday that the Hyde monster was actually a person who would transform into this monster through drugs or hypnosis, just like Jekyll and Hyde, hence the name of the monster. Moreover, in its normal form, the monster is mostly harmless but can transform into a terrifying creature.

How Did Wednesday Find Out The Person Behind The Hyde Monster?

Tyler Galpin, the potential love interest of Wednesday, was revealed to be the Hyde monster. Though she did not suspect him at first, when she shared a kiss with Tyler after using her telepathic superpowers, she saw a vision of him as the Hyde standing over her therapist.

Will The Hyde Monster Return In Season 2?

The Hyde monster is one of the most interesting characters, or creatures, perhaps, in “Wednesday,” so fans ask if he will return once the second season airs. Yes, reports already say the series has been renewed for a brand-new second season.

So, will viewers see the Hyde monster in “Wednesday” Season 2? Co-showrunner Alfred Gough, in his interview with Variety, said the Hyde monster will return.

“Yeah. Absolutely. He’s out there. That’s what we wanted to convey,” he told Variety.

If that happens, of course, Wednesday won’t be pleased to see Tyler again. Tyler might explain what really happened, but Wednesday won’t take this lightly and won’t forgive him immediately.

With the series speculated to return for a brand-new second season and with characters like the Hyde monster rumored to return, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be excited about “Wednesday.”
