In the popular sandbox video game “Minecraft,” the Warden is a recent addition to the mob group of characters. Appearing either like an upright, oddly-shaded Cow or a robot made of boxes, he is actually a hostile mob who is blind but can detect your sounds and vibrations for as long as you move or perform actions.
How do you find the Warden? How can you beat him? Read on.
Spotting The Warden
Here, it’s plain and simple. You can find the Warden in Deep Dark Caves, an easy area to spot because of the abundance of the new block, Sculk. This area appears on the lowest levels of the in-game world generation, just a few levels over Bedrock.
But beware, because even if the Warden is totally blind, he’s got some ferocious powers:
- Darkness Effect: Limits your visibility
- Combat Attack: Kills you with his bare hands
- Sonic Shriek: The Warden’s last resort
Defeating Him
Before you can defeat the Warden, there are things you must prepare:
- Your armor
- Weapons
- Food and potions
- Special items like snowballs, torches, cobwebs, and more
Here are the steps to beat the Warden:
- The moment you get to the ancient city, begin sneaking right away. Then, look for an open space connected to the city’s structure and construct your tiny underground base. You can use a trapdoor and pressure plate for added security.
- The Warden will never spawn until you make some noise, so do so. Then, quickly craft a six-block tower next to your underground base opening. It is advisable that you place cobwebs above the tower, on its side, and the opening’s bottom portion. The top area shall cancel out his shrieking ability’s knockback. Meanwhile, placing a cobweb at the bottom will help you land safely.
- As soon as you reach the top, attack the Warden with arrows. The best weapons are those with bow enchantments.
- The Warden loves to fight with its combat attack rather than its sonic shriek. Quite clever, right? But, if it works on its shriek, stay on top of the tower to heal, or jump into your base opening, healing yourself and making another opening.
These steps may be repeated, but there are also alternatives for the picky “Minecraft” gamer. They can use end crystals to stop the Warden, trap him underground, and more.
Meanwhile, should you wish to prevent the Warden from spawning, you must avoid getting detected by its soul shrieker or destroy the shrieker itself.
Sometimes, those stuff will work, but sometimes, they won’t. If none is doing you well, you can simply let it despawn. It is sensitive to noise, so if it doesn’t detect any activity for over a minute, it will automatically despawn.
Whether you are out to test your combat skills or take on a wild adventure in “Minecraft,” the Warden is among the best to accompany you. However, it’s a hostile mob, so it must be defeated. Triumph in these battles by following the steps above. Happy gaming!
