Just like how students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the “Harry Potter” franchise work with professors so they can improve their magic skills, players in “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” may also get trainers to gain skills in the quickest ways possible. Or, if that’s a bit difficult for you to digest, imagine getting personal training at the gym.

Trainers are referred to as non-player characters in “Skyrim” who can help you increase proficiency in skills you need to progress into the game. Most of these trainers provide their services from the beginning of the game. However, some may require specific tasks to be performed first. Without further ado, here’s a list of the trainers in the game with details on where to find them. But first, let’s look at the training system in “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.”

The Training System In ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’

Dissimilar to the previous entries in the “Elder Scrolls” series, “Skyrim” provides training from the Adept level and further, never treading below this boundary. That means anybody who shows the player some training for a certain skill can say they possess an adept understanding and grasp of that skill.

This is a breath of fresh air from games like “Morrowind” and “Oblivion,” which provided skills training at lower levels, including the fact that some or most trainers turn a bit pointless once the character progresses through the leveling system of the game.

But, “Skyrim” does not fall prey to this issue, as several trainers can coach the Dragonborn for most of their playthroughs, more so all the way up until you have almost mastered the skill themselves.

Once this happens, you will hear the dreaded phrase, “I just can’t teach you anymore.” Dreaded, but very sweet to hear. Hearing that, you know you have become the Master of the skill you wish to learn.

However, while all trainers in this game start at the bare minimum of Adept level, know that a higher ranked player can still vastly outclass them since they can only train up to the 50th level. Once the Dragonborn has surpassed this level in a particular skill set, you will need to find either Expert or Master trainers who can level you up further up to the 75th or 90th levels, respectively.

Train Harder As You Play ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’

Just when you get training or skill development in the real world, these trainers in “Skyrim” will ask for something in return for their knowledge and expertise. This is usually a monetary sum relevant to your level in the particular skill you wish to be trained at. You will have to provide this before the training session commences.

Skills are the bread and butter of “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,” defining your character. To progress in your skills, you must practice them. However, for those who want to train these skills and level up faster, you can work with several trainers in the mainland, Solstheim, and beyond.
