While “Boruto” fans won’t be able to see the sequel of the popular anime and manga for now, there will be an exciting timeskip that will keep them hooked throughout. Now timeskips are anticipated because it brings viewers and readers to the distant future of the story. Here’s everything we know so far about “Boruto’s” upcoming timeskip.

‘Boruto’s’ Timeskip, ‘Two Blue Vortex’

After its hiatus, “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” will officially and finally be coming back later this August, with the first new chapter in the month. Plus, fans need to get ready for the official start of “Boruto’s” timeskip, titled “Two Blue Vortex.”

A timeskip is a concept in the storyline popular in the anime and manga worlds. A timeskip is somewhat similar to the “distant finale,” but instead of coming at the end of a series, this part happens in the middle, commonly between season and story arcs. A timeskip can also occur when an anime or manga series gets a sequel that picks up after the distant finale.

“Boruto” is not the only anime skip that has a timeskip in its plot. “One Piece,” “Dragon Ball Z,” and “Attack on Titan,” among others, also have timeskips.

It has been a wild ride for the “Naruto” series as the original is soon celebrating the 20th anniversary of the anime this September, and the “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” sequel has been put on hold. But there’s a timeskip coming soon, nonetheless.

Also, the “Boruto” manga has brought readers to a massive cliffhanger with Chapter 80 teasing that the titular character, Boruto Uzumaki, is now a fugitive from the Hidden Leaf Village being accused of killing Naruto, his father. But for now, a timeskip is happening, “Two Blue Vortex.”

Release Date

“Boruto: Two Blue Vortex” will officially kick off the manga timeskip beginning this August 21st. It is also releasing outside Japan and worldwide, so international fans can get excited, too. The last time we had seen Boruto, he had left the Hidden Leaf Village with Sasuke and vowed to gain strength so he could defeat Kawaki and Code.

Kawaki had utilized Eida’s power to change Hidden Leaf Village’s history, and it is interesting to point out that now, everybody thinks Kawaki is Naruto’s son, and Boruto killed Naruto. But actually, Kawaki trapped Naruto and Hinata within his power. He is now doing everything he can to kill Boruto and prevent the awakening of Momoshiki Otsutsuki. With the upcoming timeskip, fans will be taken to an intense new world and time.
