The broom is a vital piece of equipment and a symbol of witchcraft. With roots from pagan fertility rituals where rural farmers would leap and dance astride brooms in the light of the full moon to encourage crop growth, brooms have played a significant role in a witch’s lifestyle and practice.
Being a story centered on wizards and witches, “Harry Potter” franchises like the popular game “Hogwarts Legacy” find a lot of brooms around. In “Hogwarts Legacy” in particular, brooms are items players use to travel around, just like how they are used in the “Harry Potter” series.
However, brooms in “Hogwarts Legacy” do not just appear out of nowhere. Just like in the “Harry Potter” books, where wizards and witches purchase them from stores, you have to make an effort to acquire one in the game. Here’s a guide on getting all the brooms in “Hogwarts Legacy,” beginning with your first broom.
Your First Broom
But don’t worry, as things will be pretty simple right here. Your first encounter with your broom happens as you take your first flying lesson.
As soon as you begin The First Keeper Trial, which is also a main quest in the main game, you will be directed to your first flying lesson.
Be sure that you proceed to the lawn just next to the school, where Madam Chiyo Kogawa will instruct you on flying through some rings, taking you around the school.
After doing that, you will then be able to Hogsmeade, where you will purchase your first broom ever. Remember that you have a myriad of choices for your first broom, which will further be revealed to you as you play the game. But, sadly, you cannot find any Nimbus 2000s or Firebolts in the game – brooms that are in the “Harry Potter” books and movies.
Once you are already able to fly, you will see balloons appear above specific landmarks on the map. You can pop those balloons to gain experience points.
Here Is How You Can Get All The Brooms In The Game
“Hogwarts Legacy” has 13 broomsticks you can buy around the game’s world. Let’s start with the Sprintwitches Sporting Needs brooms.
Sprintwitches Sporting Needs Brooms
Find the Sprintwitches Sporting Needs shop right in the center of Hogsmeade. You can find five of the brooms here. They cost about 500 gold each. The brooms at Sprintwitches Sporting Needs are:
- Ember Dash Broom
- Hogwarts House Broom
- Moon Trimmer Broom
- The Wind Wisp Broom
- Yew Weavers Broom
Roaming Vendor Brooms
You can also get your brooms from roaming vendors in the game so that you can collect all those brooms. Here’s the list.
- Aeromancer Broom – To Marunweem Bridge’s west
- Family Antique Broom – Irondale Battle Arena
- Silver Arrow Broom – Across the river from the South Hogwarts floo location
- Sky Scythe Broom – Hogsmeade’s south
Challenge Brooms
The last set of brooms in “Hogwarts Legacy” is not available in stores, but you can acquire them by accomplishing challenges you can find in the field guide. The main challenge is popping the balloons you can find around specific map areas. If you have flown around, you won’t miss them. Get these brooms as your challenge rewards:
- Lickety Swift Broom
- Night Dancer Broom
- The Bright Spark Broom
- Wild Fire Broom
Upgrading Your Broom
You may also upgrade your broom in the game so you can enjoy more of its perks. Here’s a guide.
Purchasing your very first broom unlocks the Flight Test side quest from Mr. Albie Weekes, the owner of Spintwitches Sporting Needs. Weekes will advise you to meet Imelda Reyes at the Quidditch Pitch.
Upon speaking to Reyes, she will challenge you to a time trial wherein you must fly and go through the rings that begin from the Quidditch Pitch and end at a cove nearby Hogsmeade Station.
You don’t need to hit all 22 rings. But missing one deducts three seconds from your time. Also, the golden bubbles between the rings will provide you with a speed boost, plenty enough to allow you to accomplish the challenge well. Furthermore, popping a bubble will also fully replenish your manual boost, so be sure to take good advantage of this.
Return to Weekes to complete this quest after you have beaten Reyes’ record. After some time, he will send you a message via the Owl Post telling you your broom upgrade is ready. Speak to Weekes again, and you will have the option to buy the upgrade for 1,000 gold.
If you wish for more upgrades, you must complete the two other time trials from Reyes. You can jumpstart those quests for the second and last upgrade by speaking to Weekes.
There you have it. Every essential thing you must know about using your broom full well in “Hogwarts Legacy.” Have fun with your broom!
