‘Elden Ring’ Guides: The Moonveil Katana Build

0

In the real world, a katana is a Japanese sword used by the samurai in feudal Japan and worn with its edge facing upward. Katanas are characterized by curved, single-edged blades with a circular or squared guard, plus a long grip to accommodate the wielder’s two hands. Famous people in pop culture have used a katana, even beyond Japan, such as Uma Thurman in “Kill Bill” and Ryan Reynolds in “Deadpool.”

However, in games like “Elden Ring,” katanas are not just one type. They’re a variety. You’ve got the Uchigatana, Nagakiba, Sword of Night, and the Serpentbone Blade, among others. In this guide, you’ll learn everything you need to know about the gorgeous Moonveil Katana.

What Is The Moonveil Katana?

The Moonveil Katana is included in several lists as the best katana in “Elden Ring.” It’s a magical katana that you don’t want to miss out on while playing the game. Its most famous skill, Transient Moonlight, releases a wave of beautiful exploring blue stars, making this katana work a powerful melee and earning it the title of a ranged weapon.

The Moonveil Samurai Build

One of the best builds for this weapon is the Moonveil Samurai Build. You’ll just look good altogether. What’s very special about this Build is its versatility. There are two ways in which you can take advantage of this build. One is with the Moonlight Katana and bow, while the other is with the Moonveil Katana itself and staff. They are different in terms of Intelligence and Dexterity.

Another well-loved thing about the Moonveil Katana is its weapon art, which is so powerful. With this, upgrading this katana is unmatched. To upgrade, be sure you have sober stones, which are not difficult to get.

Getting Started

You Need A Class

The first pre-requisite is a Class, specifically a Class selection in this game. To build the Moonveil Samurai, you must choose the Samurai class. Obviously. Afterward, you will need the Moonveil Katana itself. You cannot get this early on in the game, which means you must first cross some paths before you can reach the location where it is.

The Weapon

You’ll be able to locate the Moonveil Katana by killing the Magma Wyrn in Caelid. This is the last boss you must face through Caelid’s dungeon. Beating this boss won’t be extremely easy, but things can get more manageable if you have the Samurai class by your side, as discussed earlier.

The rationale behind this is that Samurai comes with the katana having to bleed effect on them. This effect causes immense damage to your opponent, making it straightforward to hit and run. In addition, if you don’t have the katana yet but want things to be easier for you, go for the magic. In other words, consider the Mage build.

The Staff

Going full swing for this Moonveil Katana Build is like dressing up for the Sunday sermon. Aside from the weapon itself, you need the Meteorite Staff. Perfect fit. To find this Staff, you really won’t need to do anything except travel. Head to the Sage’s Ruins Streets in Caelid to find this Staff. Otherwise, the other option is to travel to the Site of Grace, the Aeonia Swamp Shore. Once there, keep moving to the ruins in the north. From this point, you’ll see a small building. The staff is found on a corpse there.

The Talisman

For the Talisman, remember these pointers: Radagon icon, Assassins Cerulean Dagger, and Carian Filigreed Crest.

What Can The Moonveil Katana Do?

If you are still not convinced of the power of the Moonveil Katana, here are the stats to take note of:

  • Arcane and Faith – 8 points
  • Dexterity – 18 points
  • Endurance – 18 points
  • Intelligence – 28 points
  • Mind – 17 points
  • Strength – 12 points
  • Vigor – 25 points

As you can see, many of its points pie are on Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vigor. As with spells, you need Intelligence to make the weapon’s moves possible. Meanwhile, Vigor is recommended for melee as it gives HP and resistance. Finally, Dexterity is needed for quickness and other abilities of the katana.

The Playstyle

Before ending this discussion, get to know its playstyle. Like other Samurai builds, be prepared to spam R2 with this Build. Make Unsheathing your best friend. This places a blue-ranging strike against enemies, damaging them.

Moreover, Transient Moonlight is also your best buddy. Before enemies even attack you, use the Transient Moonlight to stop their attacks. Sometimes, you can even stagger them to make way for an effective attack. Again, you’ll spam Transient Moonlight here, alongside Unsheathe, to doze off or tranquilize the bosses. Also, don’t forget to roll after each attack, or you’ll regret not doing so.

You may also try mage attacks since this is a heavily Intelligence build. You won’t regret it. Plus, to give magic damage to your enemies, use the Glint Stone Pebble alongside the Carian Greatsword. The former is for long-range attacks, while the latter is for AOE scenarios. Lastly, go for Loretta’s Great Bow for the best long-range spell. Use this to lure enemies and kill them quickly.

You will find many other guides like this on the Moonveil Katana Build. Be sure to read those, too, and place them alongside this PVP Live story.

From FromSoftware, “Elden Ring” is an action role-playing game that will have you take on adventures to repair the Elden Ring and become the new Elden Lord. Experience this game.

Best Workout Games On Nintendo Switch: From ‘Just Dance’ To ‘Ring Fit Adventure’

0

It’s the holiday season! Can you feel it already? For some fitness enthusiasts, this is a bulking season, when they gain weight and build muscle in preparation for the many food fiestas happening around in these months.

That also means gyms and fitness clubs are more crowded than ever. Even if you manage to get in, if you can’t get hold of the machines or weights you want because they are being used, what’s the point?

Try working out at home, and not just exercising at home, but using the power of video games to benefit your health. The Nintendo Switch is the perfect console to do so.

The Nintendo Switch is a tablet, so it’s mostly handheld. On the surface, it’s not like your PlayStation or VR consoles, where you can really immerse yourself in the game just as you would experience the fitness center. But, since the Switch can be docked for home use or used as a portable device, it’s a promising way to play your favorite fitness-themed games. Here are some of the best.

‘Just Dance 2025′

Even if you are not a professional dancer or more of a singer than a dancer, you’ll love and sweat it out in this game because the choreography on screen is so easy to follow. The 2025 edition is already the franchise’s 16th edition, mind you. Unlike your Zumba classes, where your instructor would insist on playing oldies songs, “Just Dance” plays the hottest and trendiest songs today. Some of those on the playlist are Ariana Grande’s “yes, and?,”  Sabrina Carpenters’s “Espresso,” and Billie Eilish’s “LUNCH.”

‘Fitness Boxing’

Then, you have “Fitness Boxing.” If you are intimidated by trying boxing in real life or you feel the boxing classes in your gym are too expensive, you can set up your Nintendo Switch for this breezy, energetic body pump that will get you moving. For sure, your appetite will hype up as you finish the exercise routine in this game, urging you to enjoy your meals even more. It’s also fun because you’ll box to some beats. Try this game today.

‘Zumba Burn It Up!’

Alright, calm down, calm down. You’re looking for this, for sure. Zumba is a very popular class in gyms, and now, with your Nintendo Switch, you can enjoy it anytime you want, even while you’re at home. “Zumba Burn it Up!” is exclusive to the Switch and resembles the gameplay of “Just Dance” so that the Joy-Con can track your movements as you follow the instructions on-screen. Instead of an animated figure that dances like a pro in “Just Dance” (making them so hard to follow sometimes), you’ll follow an on-screen Zumba instructor just like how you dance and burn calories in real life. It’s realistic because there’s the Full Class mode that lets you work out for 60 minutes.

‘Ring Fit Adventure’

Have you ever tried working out with rings in the gym? It’s fun, right? With “Ring Fit Adventure,” Nintendo takes it further and pushes the limits of motion control gameplay. It’s not just a fitness game but also a 20-plus-hour role-playing game! Connect your Joy-Cons to a Pilates-inspired Ring-Con and leg strap, making it feel like it’s really rings in your local gym. You move along a fixed path by jogging in place, while the game makes it even more fun as you run along monsters and obstacles that will push you to your limits. Moreover, you’ll also get to enjoy minigames, such as “Crate Crasher,” “Squattery Wheel,” and “Robo-Wrecker.” Immerse into this today.

‘Arms’

No overthinking. The game is called “Arms” and is very direct in its approach. It’s also a boxing-themed game, but it’s a futuristic motion-controlled game with a wide range of depth. While there’s the less competitive motion control option, if you feel like competing with your family or friends, there’s a competitive play that works best either with a controller or handheld mode. Games like “Fitness Boxing” are, for sure, fun, but “Arms” adds in a cerebral layer to the fighting aspect of Nintendo Switch games, offering a different experience altogether.

‘Jump Rope Challenge’

Why wouldn’t you have a jumping role at home? This is why the appearance of “Jump Rope Challenge” on the Switch eShop came as a surprise. But, if you’re too lazy to pick up that real jump role at home, you can head to this free game that will have you grabbing your Joy-Con and jumping over a virtual rope as many times as possible. It’s also interesting because the game was invented by a Nintendo staff working from home during the pandemic. It’s not the most creatively designed game, but it’s nonetheless cute.

‘Sports Party’

Meanwhile, if you’re just looking for a lighter workout, try “Sports Party” by Ubisoft. Sure, the games feature various motion controls, but their intensity isn’t enough to make this game as exhilarating as the others here. It’s perfect for older Nintendo Switch gamers who just need a little exercise daily. There are ring, jump rope, frisbee, and beach tennis games.

‘Mario Tennis Aces’

Last but not least is a video game featuring one of the biggest stars of gaming in it: Mario. It’s not Mario jumping over pipes and shooting turtles, but Mario who plays… tennis. Cool! Get into the game to work on your arms as you swing your Joy-Con like an actual tennis racket. Unleash your inner Djokovic or Serena Williams.

Living a sedentary lifestyle will take some toll on your health. If you just eat, work, and sleep, you’re more likely to catch unwanted diseases. However, at the same time, not everyone will have the time and money to sign up for membership at the gym. In these instances, it is recommended that you use your gaming consoles like your Nintendo Switch to your best advantage. Let’s get physical!

Finding Iron Valiant In ‘Pokémon Scarlet And Violet’

0

Without hesitation, the PVP Live team shall tell you that it doesn’t take a sweat to find Iron Valiant in “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.” This creature is a mechanical and bipedal Pokémon that can kind of remind you of a squid, but it’s not.

It features several visual traits similar to those of Gallade and Gardevoir. The arms of Iron Valiant consist of gauntlets with large blades in a magenta shade protruding from its sides. These blades can detach and combine to serve as its double-edged deadly weapon. Yikes. Here’s how to find your Iron Valiant in “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.”

Step 1: Proceed To The Bottom Of The Great Crater

Iron Valiant is exclusive only to “Violet” – as well as the Great Crater. So, you must be in this area in the game to find this amazing Pokémon.

Finding and catching it is almost a must. This Pokémon is necessary to complete the Pokédex. The first step is to work your way to the bottom area of the Great Crater, just before you get into a large cave. Your clue is that it is directly outside the last research station you must visit.

Step 2: Then, Head To The Path On The Left Side

Traverse the left side of the cave opening until you reach a hanging rock formation. Spot the tree as pictured below.

Step 3: Find A Particular Rock Formation

The image below is the rock formation you are looking for. Go ahead and get near it.

Step 4: Go To The Cave

Once you’ve reached the rock formation, proceed to the waterfall area.

Step 5: See Iron Valiant Waiting For You

Provided you’re in the right location, you’ll be able to see Iron Valiant spawning. It’s not just one Iron Valiant there, but plenty, though you have to ensure you’re catching it like catching a good fish.

Iron Valiant is a Fairy- and Fighting-type Pokémon known for its incredibly high attack and speed stats, making it very effective against other Fighting-types and Dragon-types. It would be best if you had Iron Valiants for Raid Battles. Furthermore, it is also a Paradox Pokémon, or futuristic or ancient pocket monsters that cannot evolve or breed no matter what they do. It is also known as “Enigmas of Paldea.”

‘Demon Slayer’: Things You Might Have Missed About Giyu Tomioka

0

Just by looking at Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira and a supporting character in “Demon Slayer,” you’ll realize he is peaceful and won’t break a glass. Always sporting a stoic expression, he dons long, raven-black hair that resembles those of rockstars like Steven Tyler and wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform that you see in other characters, too.

But he’s actually very powerful and mighty. Here are the things you might have missed about Tomioka.

Who Is Giyu?

Well, Tomioka is a central supporting character in the anime, a Demon Slayer part of the legendary Demon Slayer Corps and the Water Hashira of the Taisho era. His looks don’t give justice to what he can do. Peaceful but deadly.

Trivia About This Water Hashira

Read on for some fascinating facts about Tomioka.

1. He Is The Second Most Powerful Hashira

Gyomei Himejima is holding the title here. But, as the second in line, Tomioka is vital so he can finish off even the most powerful demons with such ease. Nevertheless, even the Upper-Rank Demon Akaza considers him the most powerful and skillful Water Hashira in the last 50 years. None of these details will be revealed to you explicitly as you watch the anime.

2. He Is The Creator Of The 11th Form

Typically, a user only possesses 10 Breathing Style forms, but guess what? Tomioka can create the 11th form! Whoa. It’s known as the Dead Form, which he uses to kill the Lower-Rank demon, Rui. This form can cease users’ movements and activate their abilities to deflect approaching attacks. However, though powerful, it isn’t very effective against quick attacks in a row, which means that other lightning-fast attacks can kill him using this form. So sad.

3. He Is A Loner!

Weren’t you able to tell from his stoic looks? Okay, for those who never guessed that Tomioka isn’t the most sociable person in the story. He’s actually a loner to the point that other Hashira tease him for struggling to make friends with the other characters. Ask him, and he’ll tell you he has no interest in making friends as he doesn’t want to be burdened. To each his own.

4. But, He’s A Humble Person

If there’s one thing he can share as a legacy with others, that’s his humility. He has always been humble since he was small. He understands how it feels to be intimidated by other people.

5. Salmon With Radishes Is His Favorite Food

“Disney Dreamlight Valley” stars, can we provide Tomioka with this? Anyway, his favorite food is actually simmered salmon with radishes, explicitly known as sake daikon. This delicioso recipe makes him smile, a rare occasion.

6. He Has A Strong Sense Of Justice

Despite his stoic outlook, Tomioka showcases a strong sense of justice. He doesn’t care if he’d hurt others as long as justice is served. For instance, he lets Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado live even if the latter has become a demon. Others would decide to end the life of Nezuko.

Everything You Need To Know About Pochita Of ‘Chainsaw Man’

0

The PVP Live team has a lot of stories here about the world-famous manga and anime “Chainsaw Man,” but none of them tells about Pochita yet. There will be no “Chainsaw Man” without Pochita, as this cute, adorable Chainsaw Devil is the titular overarching protagonist of the popular franchise. But who really is Pochita? Let’s find out.

Who Is Pochita? (Spoilers Alert!)

Pochita is the embodiment of every essence of “Chainsaw Man.” You see him in the official trailers, featured clips, and merchandise. Pity is what you’ll feel when you see him because, in spite of the cuteness overload, he has a chainsaw cutting his head apart, and that must be painful. But, is it really, for him?

Nonetheless, he isn’t officially “the Chainsaw Man” but rather the Chainsaw Devil in the story. He is a devil who embodies the fear of chainsaws, hence his fearless bearing of a chainsaw between his head. In Chapter 87 of the manga, he was battling with the Four Horsemen Group of Devils before facing a near-death situation.

In his weakened state, he looks like a cute dog who is always found together with Denji, the series’ protagonist. Their friendship and bond even flourished when the latter worked as a devil hunter to pay off his father’s debts to the yakuza. Their bond is unwavering as Pochita even takes things further by taking over his friend’s heart and saving his life, “giving birth” to the Chainsaw Man. In exchange for this relentless power under the devil’s contract, Denji must share his dreams with his friend.

His Forms

To give spice to the story, Pochita is known not only for his Devil form but also for his Weakened or Near-Death form, and Hybrid Form, or the Chainsaw Man itself.

So, Is Pochita Dead Or Alive?

In the real world, just seeing somebody with a chainsaw cutting through their head is also gruesome. So, with this in mind, is Pochita dead or alive? Well, in the first episode of the anime adaptation, Pochita sacrifices himself to save his friend’s life. Nevertheless, Pochita is very much alive. Again, he is alive. He only appears dead since his changed state and now acts as the heart of Denji.

Interesting Facts About Pochita

Before capping off this story, here is some interesting trivia about this adorable creature:

  • Pochita is kind of taking advantage of Denji’s love for him as a friend, as the former demands so much from the latter.
  • Going back, his Devil form is touted as the most terrifying.
  • Pochita’s name comes from “pochi,” a Japanese term for “tiny objects” and dogs.
  • Pochita can erase the existence of demons.
  • Interestingly enough, his popularity is his weakness.
  • He has this sole wish, and that’s to be hugged. Awww.

You can catch the previous episodes of “Chainsaw Man” now on streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu. Or, you might want to check out the manga for the complete experience.

Beating Cliff In ‘Pokémon GO’: A How-To Guide For November 2024

0

Sporting a black cap, blue shoulder pads, a black jumpsuit etched with the logo of Team Rocket, white gloves, and white shoes, Cliff of “Pokémon GO” would pass off as a Trainer. But don’t let those brawny looks fool you. He is an enemy to beat in this augmented-reality mobile game. Learn how to beat Cliff in November 2024.

Cliff’s ‘Pokémon GO’ Lineup (November 2024)

Cliff is a thorn in the chests of the “Pokémon GO” Trainers. He is unstoppable, constantly sending out his Shadow Galaria Zigzagoon first, followed by more Pokémons.

Basically, Cliff’s lineup in the game is:

  • First Phase: Shadow Galarian Zigzagoon
  • Second Phase: Shadow Marowak, Shadow Venusaur, and Shadow Aerodactyl

His lineup changes during Team Rocket takeover events, as does those with other Team Rocket members, plus Giovanni.

To beat Cliff, you must ensure you are taking different Pokémons into battle to cover various types. Read on for the actual guide.

First Phase: Shadow Galarian Zigzagoon

Galarian Zigzagoon is a dual Dark/Normal-type Pokémon. That means this pocket monster is weak to Bug-, Fighting- and Fairy-type attacks. It can also resist Psychic-, Ghost-, and Dark-type moves.

Under A Woman’s Wings: The Strongest Female Trainers In ‘Pokémon’

0

The worlds of anime and gaming are male-dominated. So, if a male viewer sees a female character, such as a female Trainer in “Pokémon,” they’ll most likely objectify them like what they do with Poison Ivy in “Batman.” But, for others who like to see beyond their looks, they admire their strengths.

In the “Pokémon” franchise, Pokémon Trainers are people in the animes and games, also characters, who watch Pokémons and teach them how to fight. They use various strategies to help their monsters grow in levels and stats. Notably, they make this possible by involving them in fights and winning them.

In this list, you’ll get to know the best and strongest Trainers in “Pokémon,” but focusing on female trainers. Interested? Read on!

1. Cynthia

Cynthia is, hands down, the strongest female Pokémon trainer out there. Many anime and gaming insiders would agree.

Sporting a blonde hair like Barbie’s, she is an archeologist who is likewise the Champion of the Sinnoh region’s Pokémon League in “Diamond,” “Pearl,” “Brilliant Diamond,” “Platinum,” and “Shining Pearl.”

Her strength and power as a Pokémon Champion are noteworthy, both in the games and the anime series. She may be kind and has a pleasant demeanor, but her battle style is ruthless. A feared female Trainer.

2. Diantha

Next up is Diantha. A short-haired female Trainer that will remind you of Rihanna’s short-hair era, Diantha is a famous actress and the Champion of the Kalos region’s Pokémon League in “Pokémon X and Y.”

Also touted as the most feminine of all the female Trainers in the “Pokémon” franchise, she holds a Hollywood-type status, being the iconic movie star that she is. Despite her hectic schedule, she still manages to make time to train her Pokémons. She is also the sole character lucky enough to hold the Grand Dutchess title in “X and Y.”

3. Lorelei

A nerdy and geeky-looking Trainer, Lorelei is an Ice-type Trainer who is part of the Indigo Elite Four. Being so, she made only a small appearance in the anime, but her feature was so remarkable. Ash Ketchum thanks her for teaching him a valuable lesson, showcasing her talent and power as an Elite Four member, while helping Ketchum improve and progress as a Trainer himself.

Specifically, in one episode, she showed off four of her Pokémons, with Slowbro, Dewgong, and Cloyster all beating random Trainers in educational battles, with Cloyster even defeating Pikachu! Her Jynx also helped completely dispose of Team Rocket. Wow.

4. Iris

Iris is an intelligent and beautiful girl’s name. She is a formidable Dragon-type Trainer among the Gym Leaders of Opelucid City’s Gym, officially known as the Opelucid Gym, giving out the Legend Badge in “White.” She reappears two years later, in “Black 2” and “White 2,” as the Champion of the Pokémon League in Unova.

The people of Unova regard her as “the girl who knows the heart of dragons.” But, while her affinity for dragons is unquestionable, it goes above and beyond there. The adventures of this wild and playful child include her Haxorus, proving a treat to everybody that goes against its way. Soft on the outside, draconian on the inside.

5. Agatha

She is followed by Agatha. She is a Ghost-type Trainer, who, like Lorelei, also seldom appeared in the anime, and that moment was her appearance at the Viridian Gym. Like Lorelei, she also had an exciting encounter with Ketchum. Their encounter was funny since the Pikachu owner wasn’t aware she was part of the Elite Four until it was too late, and her Gengar was already moving past the yellow creature with relative ease.

Following the battle, Agatha effectively endorsed and acknowledged Ketchum, encouraging him to participate in the Battle Frontier challenge. Her battle with Ketchum is a testament to her capabilities.

6. Clair

Like Iris, Clair is also a Dragon-type Trainer in “Pokémon.” She is also the Gym Leader of Blackthorn City’s Gym. She knows how to recognize her subordinates as she gives the Rising Badge to Trainers who defeat her. In Generation 2, Ice was her only weakness. This means that her opponents can do nothing to deal severe damage and beat her. Her tactics are infamous.

7. Korrina

Another blonde-haired Trainer in “Pokémon,” Korrina is the Shalour City Gym’s Leader. She is a Fighting-type Pokémon Trainer who also gives Badges to Trainers who defeat her. She’s a bit history as she is the only character in the games to have the Trainer class Successor. Quite stunning.

Her memories with Ketchum are remarkable, too. She is among the Fighting-type Trainers and Gym Leaders who had intense battles with the Pikachu owner. When Ketchum and his friends first met Korrina, her Lucario surprisingly defeated Pikachu effortlessly. This started their friendship and somewhat formed a relationship in a way they even traveled together.

However, there was a time when Ketchum found his momentum, took vengeance, and defeated Korrina. Yet, she still looked tough in defeat. They battled yet again in “Journeys,” in which her Mega Lucario looked as fierce as ever.

8. Bea

Last is Bea. She is a martial artist, mainly known as the “Galar Karate Prodigy.” Thus, it is just right for her to train with Machop, Machoke, and Machamp, the franchise’s martial artist Pokémons. She trains her monsters really well. She also gives away Badges to Trainers who defeat her.

For more, you may also take a look at Misty – Ketchum’s best friend but not the strongest Trainer – Argenta, Fantina, Whitney, Honey, Dawn, May, and so much more. You gotta catch ‘em all Pokémons, you gotta train with ‘em all Trainers!

Those are eight of the strongest female trainers in the “Pokémon” franchise. Be sure to stick around here on PVP Live for more discussions on gaming and anime. You may also share this piece with your friends and loved ones. Happy new week ahead!

Gaming in the 2020s: How This Iteration Compares to Decades Gone By

Digital technologies constantly break new grounds, so it’s easy to forget that some of them have been around for decades. In case of the iGaming industry, that means around 30 years of continuous growth and development and the results are obvious – today’s online gambling websites are not remotely similar to the earliest endeavors of this kind. This booming industry continues to evolve and integrate new elements, but it’s interesting to look back at the past and compare modern iGaming sites with their predecessors.

Here is a brief retrospective of the main trends in iGaming since its invention to present times.

1990s – Humble Beginnings and Early Buzz

It didn’t take long after the formation of the World Wide Web for people to figure out it can be used to gamble in virtual casinos and betting shops. The earliest online gambling companies were founded in the middle of this decade, and kept multiplying very fast. Interestingly, Canada was among the pioneers of regulated online gambling – when the Kahnawake Gaming Commission was established in ’96 it was one of the first bodies in the world charged with overseeing games of chance administered on the web. Video slots were launched for the first time in 1998, marking a big milestone in the history of iGaming. Before the decade ended, there were hundreds of online casinos available along with the first poker rooms and similar game-specific platforms.

2000s – Explosive Growth and Better Regulation

As fast internet became more widely available, more people flocked to gambling sites and the volume of business started growing very rapidly. Many of the leading companies were founded in this period, and a lot of investment was made to improve the technology enabling secure real-time exchange of information that was necessary for online casino play. The regulators started catching up with the market around this time, and took upon themselves to grant licenses to legitimate operators while pursuing shady companies that tried to scam players or avoid taxation. The number of options for the players greatly increased during this decade, with platforms specialised for specific forms of gaming (i.e. slots or bingo) becoming commonplace. However, the quality of service remained relatively basic – websites were prone to crashing during peak volume hours and some of the games were characterised by poor graphics and choppy play.

2010s – iGaming Goes Mobile and Global

Around the time when smartphones became a global hit, iGaming quietly had a makeover and adapted to the new ecosystem very well. Coupled with universally available broadband internet, the arrival of handheld devices capable of accessing gambling sites completely changed the equitation. People were now free to spin the roulette wheel while they were out doing their chores, and this ease of access led to another boost in popularity. Mobile devices also allowed people who didn’t own computers to take part in games, which in turn invited participation from countries with lower computer literacy levels. It’s fair to say that 2010’s were a perfect storm that propelled the iGaming industry to heights that no one even considered possible just a few years prior. Suddenly, sports betting and poker websites started sponsoring elite soccer teams and advertising on primetime TV, signaling that the final frontier has been reached and nothing stood between iGaming and mainstream recognition.

2020s – The Responsible Gambling Era Begins for Real

With more and more countries legalising online gambling and huge number of websites being launched, some of the responsibilities of the providers came into focus. In addition to much better technical quality and choice of games or betting propositions, modern iGaming sites have mechanisms in place to prevent gambling addiction and money laundering. Some nations are going a step further and establishing wider self-exclusion programs designed to keep people with addiction issues away from all gambling websites. Legal gambling platforms are now regarded as entertainment venues, and as they adopt policies of this kind they will increasingly become acceptable to the average person. At the same time, the quality and diversity of games has never been better, with live casino games in particular advancing by leaps and bounds. The sites are also diversifying payment methods and increasingly embracing crypto coins as legitimate means of fast and discreet money transfers. All things considered, we have a lot of reasons to cherish the current era of iGaming, with classic titles like Blackjack still being relished by players in all countries.

A Peek Into the AI-Powered Future of iGaming

Fascinating new technologies based on machine learning and artificial intelligence are transforming the field of iGaming once again and there is no telling what their impact will be. The power of AI could make online gambling more convenient, safer and more personalised, but it will take some time before the operators fully integrate this technology into existing products or develop completely new ones. Some casino brands are already testing AI-driven features such as virtual customer support agents, but this is just scratching the surface. We seem to be heading to a golden age of iGaming where maturing technology, better defined regulatory environment and a huge influx of new players are creating conditions for the next stage in the advancement of this form of digital entertainment.

How to Choose the Right Internet Provider for Your Home

Before diving into internet plans, take a moment to assess how you use the internet at home. Do you mainly browse websites and check email, or do you stream movies, play online games, and work from home? A family of four who streams videos and games will need much faster speeds than a single person who mostly checks social media and shops online.

Types of Internet Connections

Cable internet uses your existing cable TV infrastructure to deliver internet service. It’s widely available and offers good speeds for most households. DSL runs through phone lines and tends to be cheaper but slower than cable. Fiber optic is option most consumers choose for faster internet speeds, but it’s not available everywhere. Satellite internet can reach rural areas where other services can’t, though it may have higher latency and data caps.

Speed Requirements for Different Activities

A basic internet plan with 25 Mbps works fine for light internet usage and email. However, if you stream HD videos or have multiple people online at once, you’ll want at least 100 Mbps. For 4K streaming and serious gaming, consider plans offering 200-500 Mbps. Remember, advertised speeds aren’t guaranteed – they’re maximum possible speeds under ideal conditions.

Important Factors Beyond Speed

  • Monthly Data Caps: Some providers limit how much data you can use. If you stream a lot of content or work from home, look for unlimited plans.• Equipment Fees: Find out if you need to rent a modem or router from the provider and how much it costs.• Contract Length: Some companies require year-long commitments, while others offer month-to-month service.• Installation Costs: Ask about installation fees and whether you can self-install to save money.

Hidden Costs and Fine Print

Watch out for promotional pricing that increases after a few months. Read the fine print about early termination fees if you need to cancel. Some providers charge extra for premium technical support or enhanced security features. Make sure you understand all potential charges before signing up.

Reliability and Customer Service

  • Check online reviews and ask neighbors about their experiences with local providers• Research each company’s average downtime and response time for outages• Look for providers offering 24/7 customer support• Consider how quickly they resolve technical issues

Comparing Prices and Packages

Don’t just compare advertised prices. Calculate the total monthly cost, including equipment rental, taxes, and fees. Some providers offer bundled services with TV and phone – these can save money if you need multiple services. However, don’t pay for bundles with features you won’t use.

Making Your Final Decision

Once you’ve narrowed down your options, contact each provider to verify service availability at your address. Ask about current promotions and whether they’ll match competitors’ prices. Get all promises in writing and save copies of your agreements. Remember that the cheapest option isn’t always the best value – reliability and customer service matter too.

If you’re moving to a new area, start researching providers at least a month before your move. This gives you time to schedule installation and avoid interruption in service. Some providers need several weeks’ notice to set up new service, especially in rural areas.

Remember, you’re not necessarily stuck with your choice forever. Keep track of your actual internet speeds and costs, and don’t hesitate to switch providers if your current service isn’t meeting your needs or if better options become available in your area.
