It’s not only in “Hogwarts Legacy” where you can make potions but also in “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.” One of the most potent potions in this action role-playing game by Bethesda is the Fortify Enchanting Potion. In this guide, you will learn how to make this portion, plus more.

All About The Fortify Enchanting Potion

The Fortify Enchanting Potion is what “Skyrim” gamers can utilize to upgrade their armor, Magicka, damage, or simply sell to and trade with other gamers for Septim.

This potion is also usually used prior to battling versus the tougher bosses in the game to give your character a “buff.” Furthermore, it’s also an enjoyable way to increase the chances of surviving the game’s painstaking tasks and progress through its levels.

The Ingredients

The brews for your Fortify Enchanting Potion must be crafted with the right ingredients. Here’s the list of what you need.

P.S. Don’t be surprised if you find the names of these ingredients weird. You’re in the world of “Skyrim,” after all.

1. Ancestor Moth Wing

For you to have the Ancestor Moth Wing, you must find Ancestor Moths. One option is to visit the Ancestor Glade for these Moths, but this is exclusive to the Dawnguard DLC and part of the main Dawnguard questline. It’s sad to say, but you cannot buy this ingredient from shops.

Moreover, if you are searching for Ancestor Moth Wings in “Skyrim,” you must proceed to the Ancestor Glade. This Glade is located east of Falkreath, home to the Ancestor Moth.

You can also find these flying around the blossoming trees in the Glade. They often land on some flora. Once they do, harvest their wings for this potion.

2. Blue Butterfly Wing

You need a couple of insects’ wings for the Fortify Enchanting Potion. Another ingredient is the Blue Butterfly Wing. Swarms of these Blue Butterflies can be located throughout the game’s temperature regions. You can find lots of them outside Falkreath or Whiterun. However, you need to go the extra mile to catch them, so if you want the easier way, just buy them.

You can also obtain Blue Butterfly Wings by catching Blue Butterflies in grassy areas. You cannot find these Butterflies in the snow, but they are rampant in the tundra around Whiterun during the day and fair weather conditions.

3. Chaurus Hunter Antennae

This is the most dangerous and difficult ingredient to obtain. More so, they are not sold in shops. You can obtain the Chaurus Hunter Antennae by killing Chaurus Hunters. They’ll drop what you need once they are killed.

4. Hagraven Claw

To find this ingredient, you must be prepared to kill. First things first, kill Hagravens for their claws. But they’re quite challenging to kill because they use powerful magic. If you don’t want to kill, you can just buy them from alchemy shops, alternatively.

Or, proceed to these locations where you can find the ingredient: Blind Cliff Cave, Darklight Tower, Dead Crone Rock, Hag’s End, and Orphan Rock.

5. Snowberries

Pleasant for the ears, Snowberries are also necessary to craft your potion. You can find Snowberries in the wild. For the easier route, purchase them from apothecary merchants. You’ll also benefit more from the latter because these merchants sell Snowberries already enchanted to increase the strength of enchantments upon items by 15 percent.

6. Spawn Ash

Spawn Ash is made from a dead being’s ashes. To find this ingredient can be demanding as you will have to kill a considerable number of Ash Spawns before collecting their remains. Some common options for acquiring this ingredient are killing zombies and spiders.

7. Spriggan Sap

Your Fortify Enchanting Potion will also not be possible without your Spriggan Sap. Unlike other ingredients here that require you to kill, you cannot get Spriggan Sap by killing Spriggans. Not gonna work. Instead, you must buy them from vendors, but be sure to bargain. They can sell them at a very cheap price. Or, if you’re lucky, they can give it to you for free.

If you’re willing to go further, some places to find this Sap include the Ansilvund Excavation, Mistveil Keep, The Ragged Flagon, and Soljund’s Sinkhole, among other areas.

Creating The Potion

There are two ways to craft your Fortify Enchanting Potion. Choose your poison. Do you want it easy or hard?

The easier way is by combining these ingredients:

  • Snowberries and any Fortify Enchanting ingredient
  • Spawn Ash and any Fortify Enchanting ingredient
  • Hagraven Claw and any Fortify Enchanting ingredient
  • Blue Butterfly Wing and Spriggan Sap

The more complex way goes like this:

  • Combine the Ancestor Moth Wing, Blue Butterfly Wing, and Chaurus Hunter Antennae
  • Combine the Spriggan Sap, Blisterworth, and any other Fortify Enchanting Potion ingredient
  • Combine Hagraven Claw, Tundra Cotton, and any other Fortify Enchanting Potion ingredient
