If you fancy mermaids, why don’t you head to Ginger Island in “Stardew Valley” to solve the Mermaid Puzzle?
This puzzle is one of the many available that will tickle your brain in the game. Completing this puzzle will surprise you with prizes. Here’s how to solve it.
The Mermaid Journal Scrap
Like many legends about mermaids, you will first know of the Mermaid Puzzle in a strange stuff in “Stardew Valley,” the Journal Scrap 9. If you are feeling as if you want to unleash your inner explorer, you can go ahead and hunt for the scrap.
The Journal Scrap 9 is a piece of paper you can get on Ginger Island, not in any other location in the game. Right as you go digging, breaking rocks, and slaying monsters, these scraps will drop. For the best way to find these, dig at any artifact spots you encounter and use bombs in the dungeon to clear large areas of rocks.
This scrap tells about a mermaid found near a beach in the rain. It also talks about beach stones and a song that can urge the mermaid to bring you to the treasure. But first, you must unlock the Pirate’s Cove. Read on.
Unlocking The Pirate’s Cove
The Pirate’s Cove can be found on the island’s southeast portion. To unlock it, you must fulfill these tasks:
- Give a Golden Walnut to the parrot in Leo’s Hut
- Unlock Island West
- Build the Island Farmhouse
- Construct the Island Beach Resort
The moment you succeed in building the Island Beach Resort, the beach’s southeastern potion will get cleared of debris, giving you a way to proceed to Ginger Island’s southeast area. Getting into this area will take you to a tiny clearing that has a pool shaped like a star.
It Has To Rain For The Mermaid To Appear
For the mermaid to show up, there’s one requirement: it has to rain. If it does, you will see the woman perched on a rock off the store. See her at the bottom right corner of your screen.
On the beach’s edge, you will also see five rock clusters beside a rock with a musical note on it. Here, you must place flute blocks according to the clusters. Keep on reading.
Acquiring The Flute Blocks
You need the crafting recipe for the Flute Blocks. To get this recipe, you must join Robin’s six-heart friendship event. Then, you will be given the recipe.
To craft a Flute Block, you must have the following:
- 10 pieces Wood
- Two pieces of Copper Core
- 20 pieces Fiber
Proceed to the Pirate’s Cove beach once you have your five Flute Blocks. Don’t forget. It has to be raining.
How To Solve The Mermaid Puzzle
Now we’ve come to the main part. With the Blocks with you, put each in front of a rock cluster. Use your cursor and click on a Block to tune one. Clicking on the Blocks changes the pitch. Turn your attention to the rocks, as they will give you a hint on how you must tune each Block.
A tiny rock is equal to one, while a big rock is equal to five. These numbers represent how many times you must click on a Block to tune it.
Once you’ve tuned the Blocks, stand on the rocks’ left-hand side and walk across them. You will hear the Mermaid’s Song play (yes, she’s singing in the rain), and you’ll have the rewards.
Your rewards are five Golden Walnuts. These are the currency on Ginger Island which you can exchange with the birds to unlock areas, fast travel, and construct some facilities.
