Anima, a Coinbase-backed metaverse firm, has released an AR platform with their largest augmented reality (AR) NFT project to Mirror, in cooperation with contemporary artist Demsky. It’s been dubbed a “digital sculpture” and a “portal to the metaverse.”
Demsky, a self-taught artist, has traveled to over 50 countries performing graffiti, and this type of art has been the source of his creative impact. According to his website, he is still “occupied with twisting the morphology of his name in different, unexpected ways.”
Demsky’s nostalgia for the 1980s and 1990s has evolved into a desire to produce “a balanced blend of future and nostalgia, radical inventiveness and exact sciences.” Mirror now presents itself as an extension of the artist’s “otherworldly physical works” because of the capabilities of augmented reality NFTs, which allow the art piece to communicate with people all over the world.
PHASE MN:01 MIRROR, our most recent and largest project, attempts to merge the actual and digital worlds. It’s the first step toward realizing our idea of a “camera metaverse” — a creatively driven digital layer in augmented reality.

The project was intended to provide a global experience since its “8,888 one-of-a-kind AR NFTs” were distributed globally with “a cryptic set of coordinates.” The sculptures were given an evolving feature that allows them to alter their look, sound, and tokenized metadata “when put at those revealed coordinates” as part of their immersive forms in many dimensions.
Each Anima project includes a new Anima-developed AR mechanism, such as location triggers, crafting, item pinning, nestable objects, and spatial sound. Token metadata may be viewed within the AR experience itself, thanks to proprietary technology created by Anima to show current blockchain data in AR and 3D environments.
Mirror expects that real-world actions will broaden AR experiences and interactions. According to Anima, this release demonstrates their ability to create “really interactive augmented reality experiences,” and owners will “join a community of explorers, transcending physical and digital barriers in a blended reality that exists only in the camera metaverse.”
This Anima AR metaverse project seeks to combine physical and digital realities in such a way that they may complement each other “in real-time.” They believe that because it “exists as a digital overlay on top of our reality,” this is a true embodiment of the metaverse.
How To Get Involved With This AR NFT Project Mirrors may be booked in Anima’s new online marketplace for $200 apiece using crypto or fiat as payment. Collectors can request a reserve of 15 NFTs tops from Anima. Randomly selected winners will be able to complete their purchase within a month.
Anima also claims to have additional AR projects in the works with various intriguing producers, including “a legendary fashion designer, a former NASA astronaut, a Grammy-nominated musician, a world-famous cryptographer, and artists like Matthew Day Jackson and Michael Kagan.”

The metaverse startup has also increased its total funding to over $3 million by expanding its pre-seed round with new investors such as Not Boring Capital, Hashkey, Harizury, Magic Ventures, and NGC Ventures, in addition to existing investors such as Coinbase Ventures, Flaming DAO, and Divergence Ventures.
