Musk Calls Out Twitter Users Who Never Post, And The New ‘Highlights’ Feature – Twitter News

Billionaire Elon Musk often expresses what he wants to say, sometimes at the expense of others, since many of his statements are controversial. Recently, he shared a message calling out Twitter users who just are not keen on posting too much. Here’s the news.

People who have Twitter but never post anything

Previously, Musk decided to purge those accounts inactive on Twitter for several years, and of course, this has been met with several criticisms and backlash. Now, he has something to say for those Twitter users who are on the platform but wouldn’t want to post.

In a tweet last Sunday, Musk posted an image of a man dressed in a kurta pajama lounging on a pedestal, just smoking and watching several people below him. The meme was captioned, “People who have Twitter but never post anything.”

“Oh hi lol,” the billionaire said in this tweet, addressing those Twitter users who are on the platform but just wouldn’t post anything.

His post has so far already garnered almost 120,000 retweets and over a million likes.

People disagree

Various users responded negatively to this post of Musk, disagreeing with him. Netizen @itsief replied to the post, saying, “This is the best move ever tbh, just observe.”

@NFT_Money_Meta seconded that and tweeted, “What can I say Watching the world turning into a chaotic place [is] definitely cooler than participating in it…”

A new Instagram-like feature on Twitter

Meanwhile, there’s a new feature on Twitter that some users will love.

Since Musk acquired Twitter, he has brought several new features to the social media platform. For one, it has slowly grown from just being a micro-blogging platform to more of a social media website. It now has features so users can monetize content, on long-form videos and texts, and more.

This time, Twitter is introducing a Highlights feature – yes, just like what happens on Instagram.

Musk recently retweeted a post by another Twitter user, @cb_doge. @cb_doge tweeted on Monday, ““Highlights Tab” is now live on Twitter. You can now showcase your favorite tweets on your profile…”

Highlights on Twitter will let users display their favorite tweets in a separate tab. It is roughly similar to Instagram’s Highlights feature, where users can “highlight” the Stories they wish their people to watch at a later time since Stories on Instagram disappears after 24 hours.

How to use Twitter’s new Highlights feature

For you to add your tweet to highlights, simply go to the tweet to intend to highlight. Then, tap the three-dotted button on the tweet’s top right corner, and choose the option that says, “Add/remove from highlights.”

The new Highlights feature is seemed to be aimed at content creators.
