“Grand Theft Auto” gamers and fans waited centuries for “GTA 6.” Well, that’s an overstatement, but you get the picture, especially since it took 10 years before Rockstar Games revealed this new installment from the previous one.

So, it goes without saying that gamers expect big things – just big things.

You may have probably already seen the first official trailer of “GTA 6,” which dropped earlier this month. The trailer has, undoubtedly, stunned fans with its realistic depiction of Florida.

But the trailer did not come out without controversies. First, it was released earlier than the date announced because of leaks. Then, a resident of Florida wanted Rockstar Games to give them a whopping $2 million for using their hometown’s likeness.

So, all has been said about “GTA 6” with the first trailer. It is big, so gamers also expect its length to be significant.

But hold your horses, a popular YouTuber and a “GTA” expert @LegacyKillaHD, “GTA 6” will likely be closer to “GTA 5” than “Red Dead Redemption 2” in terms of length. Well, that’s sad.

The YouTuber took to X to say, “It’s not as long from what I heard. Probably 35-40 hours.”

Commenters are asking for their source, with one even pointing out, “You know nothing.”

But this YouTuber is also the same guy who leaked the “Project Americas” title back in 2019, and their details are pretty accurate.

Other experts, meanwhile, pointed out that this rumored duration is just about the game’s story. The game will have side activities and open-world shenanigans. So, if we include those in the count, that playtime could even triple. Plus, don’t you think “Red Dead Redemption 2” is too long?

The YouTuber also gave a disclaimer. They said they heard this last year, so things could have changed since then.

One thing is for sure. Take these things with a grain of salt for now.

We’re still more than a year from the release of “GTA 6,” so expect more rumors to appear.

“‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ series yet. Coming 2025 to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S,” said Rockstar Games.
