Despite having had a bumpy route to release, Dying Light 2: Stay Human looks to be nearing completion. From humanity’s newest “dark era” to how zombies continue to develop, Techland continues to provide more details about what gamers can anticipate in the sequel to its 2015 parkour zombie-killing game. The most recent update provided gamers more information about the game ahead of its February 2022 release, including the introduction of the game’s newest voice cast member, who hails from Hollywood.
Stay Human follows up 20 years after the original game’s events, exchanging Harran in the Middle East for a strange new metropolis in the heart of Europe. With its parkour-inspired navigation and fighting system, players will once again be able to explore the area and outmaneuver the different zombies that inhabit it. Players will, however, engage with numerous survivor factions around the city, influencing which group governs atop the zombie-infested ruins.
A lady named Lawan, portrayed by Rosario Dawson, is one of the survivors with whom players may engage. As part of a game update with Xbox Wire, Dying Light 2 writer Marta Szczechowska confirmed Dawson’s involvement in the game. Lawan is characterized as a “genuine warrior” and one of the city’s fiercest survivors who, if players don’t “rile her up,” may become one of the player’s most dependable companions.
This isn’t the only game to which Dawson has contributed her abilities throughout the course of her career. With Marc Ecko’s Getting Up in 2006, she dipped her toe into the game water before stepping into a larger-scale title with Syndicate in 2012. Ratchet and Clank, Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and NBA 2K20 were all released in 2016.
Rosario Dawson’s inclusion in the game’s cast comes at a time when, as previously said, more Hollywood figures are entering the gaming sector. It reflects an industry where the production quality and appeal are such that well-known actors are willing to be a part of these games, whether they are from a large studio or a smaller independent developer.
Keanu Reeves starred as Johnny Silverhand in CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077, which was one of the year’s most anticipated releases. On a smaller scale, Annapurna Interactive’s mystery thriller 12 Minutes included Daisy Ridley, James McAvoy, and Willem Dafoe as voice actors.
