Following a depressing PlayStation 5 preorder process, Sony apologized and has guaranteed that more PlayStation 5 consoles will be available for preorder in the next coming days and that even more will be available before the year ends.
PlayStation posted on their official Twitter account to apologize to fans saying that:
Let’s be honest: PS5 preorders could have been a lot smoother. We truly apologize for that.
Over the next few days, we will release more PS5 consoles for preorder – retailers will share more details.
And more PS5s will be available through the end of the year. pic.twitter.com/h1TaGsGBun

According to Sony, preorders were supposed to begin the day after the PlayStation 5 live streaming event. The showcase revealed the next-gen console’s release date and price along with trailers for new games including Final Fantasy XVI, a God of War sequel, Hogwarts Legacy, and more.
However, vendors started catering preorders the same night as the live event which led to crashing websites and a lot of people were disappointed because they weren’t able to get one. Even those who got a PlayStation 5 preorder weren’t guaranteed if they could get the console because vendors like Amazon are starting to send out emails saying they might not be able to deliver the system on the launch day of November 20, 2020.
Fortunately, it looks like fans will get another chance at getting one for this holiday season. However, fans will still have to tune in for updates on when the preorders will go live again.
