‘Overwatch 2’ players can unlock the new support hero immediately, thanks to Xbox
Rumors are recently circulating about the new support hero in “Overwatch 2.” Though nothing has been official so far, a Twitter netizen, @_FireMonkey, has leaked that the new support hero will be Illari, coming to the game with the soon-to-unveil “Invasion” season.
Though Illari’s abilities are still unknown, some of her skins have already leaked, which look superb. At launch, she will reportedly have a total of nine skins. Out of which, Llama Pajamas and Daybreak have been shown. Exciting?
News reports also reveal that this next support hero in “Overwatch 2” will launch this August 10th with the release of the sixth season and “Overwatch 2: Invasion,” speculated to introduce PvE missions, new modes, and so much more.
While players who buy the Season 6 Battle Pass will gain access to the new support, Xbox will be allowing users to get the chance to experience all six of the new heroes in the game for those who haven’t unlocked them yet.
The Overwatch 2 New Heroes Starter Pack will also be made available as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks on August 10th. The pack includes Junker Queen, Kiriko, Lifeweaver Ramattra, Sojourn, and the new hero, together with Legendary Skins and other cosmetics.
Here’s how to unlock the new hero right away
The process to gain access to the new hero and other goodies is simple. If you have the Xbox Game Pass, simply subscribe to the Ultimate to access the Hero Starter Pack.
All heroes will come with their very own Legendary Skin, as well as an assortment of other in-game cosmetics.
But of course, this is just a massive bonus for existing players with Game Pass Ultimate who may want to play with the new hero but do not want to shell out more money for a Battle Pass.
With that being said, those who want to purchase the “Overwatch 2: Invasion” PvE content will gain access to sufficient Overwatch coins to buy a Battle Pass and get access to the new hero, too.
“Overwatch 2” is a first-person shooter game by Blizzard Entertainment and is a sequel and replacement to the 2016 hero shooter, “Overwatch.”
