
Bahrain’s Central Bank summarised the JPM cryptocurrency test, which enabled Bank ABC to implement live payment for the Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA) token.
The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) recently completed its JPM—coin test. JPMorgan’s The JPM coin is a cryptocurrency token designed to simplify payments through the use of blockchain technology.
JPM Cryptocurrency’s First Deployment
The CBB decided to take new actions in order to improve the client experience for safe and effective settlement services. To that end, the bank ran a test run of the JPM coin. This cross-border test overlaps with the blockchain technology used by a US bank.
The examination includes two more big firms: Manama-based Bank ABC and Aluminum Bahrain. Aluminum Bahrain is the Middle East’s first aluminum smelter, and it is even more well-known than the Alba. The pilot allows Bank ABC to accept real-time payments from Aluminum Bahrain using the JPM cryptocurrency.
CBB’s Participation in the Payment Trial
The Central Bank of Bahrain oversaw the experimental project, and the outcome was favorable to both sides. Mr. Rasheed Al-Maraj, Governor of Bahrain’s Central Bank, also explained the test’s success. He also stated that the Kingdom would continue to use innovative technology to improve local finance distribution.
In his remark, he stated that the company wants to eliminate the ineffectiveness of legacy inter-border transactions by cooperating with Bank ABC, Alba, and JPMorgan’s Onyx.
ABC Bank’s Vice President Responds to Transaction
Mr. Sael Al Waary, Group Executive VP of Bank APC, also stated that his company’s participation in the project was successful. He previously anticipated that cryptocurrency would play an important role in altering digital economies in the future.
JPMorgan Bahrain’s CEO Speaks Out On The Trial
Ali Mousa, the CEO of JPMorgan, also remarked on the idea. He noted that JPMorgan Bahrain, a subsidiary of JPMorgan Onyx, is committed to leading the development of the next generation. This generation is concerned with clearing and settlement substructures.
He also stated that the testing with Bank ABC and Alba would help develop the JPM cryptocurrency systems for future use by banking partners.
Cryptocurrency Offerings by JPMorgan
Although the company’s CEO, Jamie Dimon, is a vocal opponent of cryptocurrencies, the step mentioned above isn’t the only crypto-related activity the corporation has been involved in.
During the summer of last year, the bank allowed its wealth management customers to engage in six crypto-funding transactions. Grayscale Investments is responsible for four of the six.
