The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me Horror Game Announced

Supermassive Games’ Dark Pictures Anthology series has so far released three chapters, the most recent of which, House of Ashes, was launched on October 22nd. In 2019, the horror series began with Man of Medan.

Each year after that, a new title was released, coupled with a tease for the following year’s horror game. The Dark Pictures: The Devil in Me, the fourth and final chapter of Season 1 of The Dark Pictures Anthology, was the subject of this year’s tease.

The Dark Pictures Anthology was supposed to have a total of eight chapters. Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn was a great financial and critical success, and it has now tried to capitalize on that success with The Dark Pictures Anthology. The anthology’s games are about half the size of Until Dawn, but they still provided plenty of horrors and fascinating decision-making.

A new trailer for The Dark Pictures: The Devil in Me has been released, and it features several new characters in an unknown setting. The trailer is narrated by a crazy killer who will most likely be the next installment’s adversary.

New characters were also seen in brief glimpses, but it’s unclear whether they are ones the player would control in The Devil in Me or ones that were killed by the narrator. The Devil in Me will be the final chapter of Season 1 of The Dark Pictures Anthology, as stated at the end of the trailer.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, Season 2 will likely include the final four games in The Dark Pictures Anthology, but it’s unclear how long fans will have to wait between Seasons 1 and 2. The concept of several seasons might be employed to allow Supermassive Titles additional time to work on future horror games. Currently, a new episode of The Dark Pictures Anthology is released every year, thus having The Devil in Me be the final game in Season 1 may allow Supermassive Games to work on a different project.

The Devil in Me appears to be extremely different from past Dark Pictures games based on what has been shown so far in the teaser. Rather than focusing on a specific monster or psychological horror, The Devil in Me appears to put players against a seasoned psychotic killer.

Despite negative reviews for both Man of Medan and Little Hope, many people were happy with House of Ashes and the changes it made to the horror series. If The Devil in Me can improve upon House of Ashes, it will undoubtedly be a solid horror title to watch out for next year.
