Epic Games is ushering players toward a new beginning as one of its games, “Fortnite,” has released the all-new update 26.20. It is now live on all platforms.

“A new day, a new beginning,” read a tweet from Epic Games.

But don’t get too excited yet, as the new patch launched alongside an extended period of server downtime to give way to maintenance. Matchmaking was turned off around 2:30 a.m. EDT, while the game was taken offline in full at 3 a.m. EDT. Some of you might still be sleeping at that time, and as you wake up, you will fully experience the update.

Furthermore, while there is no official server downtime schedule, “Fortnite” will be offline for at least a couple of hours, but it will definitely be back at around 5 a.m. EDT. But everything should be fine by now.

Here are some of the most exciting things to look forward to with the update.

1. ‘Transformers’ Bundle

“Transformers” is a pop culture franchise that has been celebrated all over the world. So we are very thankful that it is coming to “Fortnite,” too.

According to several social media posts, Epic Games is working on a new “Transformers” bundle, which gamers can access from the item shop. The characters in the bundle are your favorites, Bumblebee and Megatron. Plus, there’s also the Fortnite Battle Bus, which may not be an official “Transformers” character but can line alongside them.

2. Ahsoka Tano Outfit

The recent “Fortnite” update may be slightly biased toward “Star Wars” fans, as one of its major features is the Ahsoka Tano Outfit, also available.

It seems that Epic Games really timed the release of this Outfit alongside the hype of the character in Disney +’s “Ahsoka,” which is about to end. But viewers worldwide are loving it. The series revolves around former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano, who is investigating an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Aside from the Outfit, Ahsoka Tano will also be kitted out with various other cosmetics associated with her. Really exciting, right?

3. The Return Of Lightsabers

Since the “Fortnite” update is launching an Outfit featuring “Star Wars’” Ahsoka Tano, will Epic Games ever forget about the iconic Lightsabers? Of course not.

According to leaks, with the Ahsoka Tano Outfit added to the game, there is a considerable chance that more “Star Wars” items will return, too, such as Force Powers, Lightsabers, and Blasters.

Anything goes in the metaverse, and all we can do is look forward to the surprises from Epic Games.

4. Vaulting Of Deku’s Smash And Birthday Items

While there are new launches and returns with the update, there are also features that gamers will have to say goodbye to, such as the birthday items. Now that the update is live, everything related to “Fortnite’s” birthday will be vaulted. Those who missed the celebrations will need to wait a year to participate again.

Deku’s Smash Mythic will also be vaulted. It is a good weapon, but this needs to end alongside the end of the game’s collaboration with “My Hero Academia,” too.

Deku’s Smash Mythic will also be vaulted once the downtime ends. Although it’s a good weapon, with the My Hero Academia collaboration ending, it, too, must be put away until next time.

5. October Crew Pack

Just like last month, Epic Games has successfully kept the upcoming Crew Pack for October 2023 a total secret. But speculations are saying it will closely be related to Fortnitemares. Yet, with the storyline leaning toward Kado Thorne’s time machine, it may be Heist-themed. Now it is up to you, the players, to find out.

6. Fortnitemares 2023

With the update happening closer to October, the month of Fortnitemares, speculations say that this will covered as well. But we have to wait for more revelations.

These are only some of the stuff coming in with the “Fortnite” update 26.20. There are certainly more, so brace yourselves and access the update right now.

Developed by Epic Games, “Fortnite” is an online video game launched in 2017 with three distinct game mode versions sharing the same general gameplay and game engine:

  • First is ‘Fortnite Battle Royale,’ a free-to-play battle royale game wherein up to 100 players battle it out to be the last man standing.
  • Second is ‘Fortnite: Save the World,’ a cooperative hybrid tower defense-shooter and survival game wherein up to four players fight off zombie-like creatures, and defend items with fortifications and traps they can construct.
  • Lastly, there’s “Fortnite Creative,” wherein players are granted complete freedom to create worlds and battle arenas.

You can play “Fortnite” on platforms like GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and PlayStation 5. You can read our other “Fortnite” content here.
