Horse racing events are the highlight of social occasions in the United Kingdom and across the world. Based on the seasons, we’ve compiled a list of the must-see horse racing events you can anticipate in 2022. But, make sure you learn how to bet on horse racing first if you want to join the action with your money.

Cheltenham Festival

15th through to 18th March 2022

The Breeders’ Cup is a four-day event series with 14 Grade One races broken down over four seven-race cards. Each of the 28 events has its own distinct personality. The annual four-day Jump racing celebration is known for bringing together some of the finest jumpers from across the world.

Through The Cheltenham Festival, you basically get to see many different races and an interesting thing about it is that the racecourses operate based on a “cashless” system. This includes the concessions. So, if you want to visit, you can only use cash to place some bets with the services of several on-course bookmakers. For anything else, cash cannot be used.

The Coral Scottish Grand National

1st and 2nd April 2022

The Coral Scottish Grand National, which is the country’s most significant jump race and one of the UK’s finest sports events, is held on the last Saturday in April. Up to 30 top handicap chasers will compete in 27 hurdles in front of a jam-packed crowd during the four-mile Coral Scottish Grand National. In the end, the runners are enthusiastically cheered from beginning to end, culminating in a roar as they leap over the final fence and into history.

The race is Grade 3 steeplechase National Hunt, with horses of five years old or more being allowed. You can see it in Ayr, Scotland. It covers a distance of 6,397 meters, which is around 4 miles. 27 fences are present as obstacles and the race is a handicapped one. Basically, the Coral Scottish Grand National is the country’s equivalent of the UK’s Grand National. It is a part of the Scottish Grand National Festival.

Randox Health Grand National Festival

7th through to 10th April 2022

The Randox Grand National is the most famous steeplechase in the world, held every April at Aintree Racecourse near Liverpool, Merseyside. The popular three-day racing festival is broadcast live on ITV with a global audience of 600 million viewers and over 150,000 spectators.

On April 8th, it will be Liverpool’s NHS Day. On April 9th it will be Ladies’ Day. And on April 10th, the full Grand National Day will happen.

The festival is sponsored by Randox Health, which for 35 years has been involved in healthcare in 145 countries. Nationally, the spotlight was put on the company exactly through the steeplechase race. Randox Health is specialized in diagnostic accuracy and Sir AP McCoy, who is the most successful jockey in the world, is the main brand ambassador. He was diagnosed with prediabetes and with the help of Randox, he reversed the diagnosis. So, we can say that the festival is about horse racing and about health at the same time.

Grand National

9th April 2022

The Grand National is the most famous horse race in the world, and its return to Aintree in April 2022 will stop everyone in their tracks. When over 600 million people all across the globe tune into Aintree, it’ll be filled with 65,000 spectators.

The Grand National is more than just a race; the beauty of the spectators, their eagerness, and their excitement represent the drama that ensues throughout two circuits on the Liverpool track. The excitement of witnessing the major race live is overwhelming, and each year, it seems that the pleasure and quality of the event improve. It’s a lot of fun to keep track of your interests this way. It’s easier than ever to bet, and you can do it from the comfort of your own living room. It frequently adds another layer of enjoyment for fans while also allowing them to learn about the most recent winners and make educated betting selections.

What is interesting is that the race features very large fences. They are larger than what you regularly see on the National Hunt tracks. In fact, many of these are famous. This, combined with the race length, led to the event being considered as “the ultimate test of horse and rider.”

In 2021, the race winner was Minella Times. And as an interesting extra fact, the event’s sponsor is also Randox Health since 2017.

Royal Ascot

14th June through to 18th June 2022

The Royal Ascot is one of the most talked-about social events of the year, with five days of horse racing, pageantry, and exquisite cuisine. The Royal Enclosure will be exclusively for guests who were invited to the event. One of three additional enclosures will be set aside for people in the Royal Enclosure.

The most important flat racing event in the United Kingdom is the Royal Meeting, which takes place in Ascot every June. There are eight groups of one race each spread out over five beautiful days at The Royal Meeting. Ladies’ Day has been a popular draw at The Royal Meeting for many years.

Royal Ascot is highly respected all around the world. It thus attracts some of the finest racing horses. The event is a part of a festival-like experience that includes many extras, ranging from fine dining to exquisite fashion.

Final Thoughts

The horse racing events highlighted above are some of the most important ones in 2022 and every single one is expected to be a spectacle. However, it is important to note that due to the evolution of the worldwide pandemic, spots will be limited. If you want to participate and experience the races live, it is important to book ahead. The Royal Ascot already mentioned that their early booking deadline is going to close at the end of March 2022. Fortunately for gamblers though, they do not have to participate in person and online betting will be available for every single one of the events.
