Listen up because Luffy has got something to say. Wait, what… Monkey D. Luffy? You read that right. This hero of the “One Piece” anime may be playful, fun-loving, carefree, and happy-go-lucky, but his great ambition for his friends and family makes him the substantial person he is. Who would have ever thought a food lover has something to say? Here are the best words ever said by Luffy in the famous anime.

Luffy Says # 8

“Pirates will have a banquet and dig right in, but a hero would give it to other people. Screw that – My meat Is mine!”

Okay, this quote is inspiring and has a bit of comic relief. Luffy is trying to say here how a real pirate hero will have compassion for others, sharing their blessings with them. But he buckles up by saying he is more of a pirate than a hero since his meat is his. See the humility in there? It is said during the captain’s heated argument with Jinbe after the Straw Hat Pirates crew arrives at Fish-Man Island.

Luffy Says # 7

“If you hurt somebody… or if somebody hurts you, the same red blood will be shed.”

This quote references the Biblical saying, “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” Luffy blurts this out to emphasize the shared humanity between people, regardless of who is hurt and who isn’t. He reminds people that everybody bleeds the same red blood, symbolizing equality in pain and suffering. Whether you cause hurt to someone else or are hurt by them, you must prepare to suffer the consequences. This is what the captain is saying. This message reflects that justice will always prevail after violence and harm, then compassion and understanding will follow.

Luffy Says # 6

“I don’t have to be a boss – whenever you guys are in trouble, call us!”

Very interesting right here because this is a quote that a true leader can utter. A true leader isn’t a boss. What’s great about Luffy is that even if he is officially the fleet captain, he listens to each of his crew. A sense of equality defines his relationships. He never forces anybody to listen to what he’ll say since he believes doing so compromises their freedom. For Luffy, it’s about making lasting friendships rather than bossing around.

Luffy Says # 5

“Forgetting is like a wound. The wound may heal, but it has already left a scar.”

That sounds like Luffy in a tear-jerking movie. In this quote, Luffy becomes an instant poet, comparing forgetting to a wound, implying that while time may heal the pain, the memory of the encounter, like a scar, can remain, even forever. Even after the hurt fades away, the impact can linger, shaping one’s identity and quest. This quote also suggests that forgetting the experience won’t erase its significance. They will always leave a lasting impression and mark, a testament that something has been learned.

Luffy Says # 4

“When things get tough, remember the adventure of the sea! Fly that over the land of Wano! Screwing with our friend means screwing with us.”

Okay, there are two ideas in play here. He views life’s challenges as fun and friendships that can never be broken. When ordinary guy Momonosuke assumes the role his family expects him to, a shogun, he becomes afraid of his new responsibility. Luffy is there to give him reassurance and reaffirmation. Luffy gives Momonosuke a flag with the Straw Hat Pirates logo, telling him to flaunt it how he wants. The former sees the latter as his younger brother.

Luffy Says # 3

“If you don’t take risks, you can’t create a future.”

Alright, alright, calm down. You’ll think that motivational speakers will also use this quote, right? Things will get very obvious here. Here, the “One Piece” hero emphasizes the significance of bold actions to influence the future. Hearing this from you, you’ll conclude that Luffy firmly believes in avoiding risks leading to stagnation and turning down progress or change.

It also says that embracing challenges in your life, even with uncertainties, can open new opportunities. For him, risk-taking is crucial to achieving one’s dreams, as if it’s the sole way to a bright future.

Luffy Says # 2

“It’s not about whether I can or not. I’m gonna do it because I want to. I’ve decided to be the King of the Pirates, so if I die fighting for that, that’s fine with me!”

Luffy utters this quote when he meets a young boy who aspires to be part of the Marines. However, his weaknesses are preventing him from doing so, so encountering Luffy in his life is a big help. This quote seemingly answers an interview that the young boy is having with the Straw Hat Pirates captain. Do you think this can be contested as number one?

Luffy Says # 1

“I have Nakama who’re not strong… But I still want them to be with me..!! So I have to be stronger than anybody else… Or I’ll lose them all!!!”

“One Piece” insiders agree that this is, by far, the best quote Luffy has said. Here, he emphasizes the importance of his friends, which means “nakama” in the quote. He recognizes that while some may not be completely strong, their bond with him matters. He carries the responsibility of protecting them. To guarantee they’re always safe, he faithfully believes he should be more potent than anybody else. Failure means losing his friends, whether physically or emotionally.

Those are some of the best quotes Luffy has said in the anime. This founder, captain, and most vital combatant of the increasingly infamous and formidable Straw Hat Pirates is not a man of a few words. He can be loud, but for sure, substantial. Why don’t you learn from Luffy, eh?
