Bali, Indonesia

Bali is a great place to get away and relax, and it’s also a great place to practice mindfulness or go on a meditative retreat. With historic temples all over the island, it’s the perfect place to go to practice yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. A great vacation could include a short yoga retreat and a few days on the beach with a cocktail in hand.
The food in Bali is delicious as well. Traditional Indonesian dishes offer unique flavors. This extends to desserts as well. Try a delicious treat made with banana flour, a staple on the island.

Big Bend National Park
If you’re looking for something a little closer to home, visit Big Bend National Part in West Texas. Big Bend sits on the Texas border with Mexico. This park offers a broad and vast beauty, full of serene mountains and desertscapes. This is the sort of place you imagine when you think of the wild west.
The park offers more than 150 miles of trails in the Chisos Mountains and the Chihuahuan Desert. You can even cross over to Mexico in the park and visit the quaint village of Boquillas. It’s possible to camp in the park, or you can stay just outside in the cities of Alpine and Terlingua. Terlingua is a ghost town and a very cool experience in and of itself.
Venice, Italy
If you’re looking for romance, Venice is a great place to visit. This city is full of romance and history. It’s always exciting to visit a city where people largely get around by boat. Tour the islands of Murano and Burano to see glass making and lace making.
Not to mention, the food is amazing. Have a perfect glass of wine or amazing espresso. Eat Mediterranean fare while sitting in an open cafe. Sample fresh, locally caught seafood.
Austin, Texas
If you’re looking for a bit of western charm, Austin is a great place to spend some time. There are tons to do and the food is delicious. Spend some time hiking through the Texas Hill Country. Take a summer tubing trip just outside the city in New Braunfels. Enjoy the vibrant city culture off of 6th Street or watch the bats from the Congress Avenue Bridge.
This is the place for barbecue, beer, and even wine. Fredericksburg is nearby, where you can find delicious Texas wines. Enjoy brisket at one of the many fine barbecue establishments, head to a brewery, then take a day trip to Fredericksburg and go on a wine tour.
