It’s almost impossible to cast two spells at once in the “Harry Potter” novels and movies. But, in “Hogwarts Legacy,” the video game inspired by the worldwide phenomenon, you can. Here are the best spell combos that, for sure, will stun enemies in the game.
Expelliarmus & Ancient Magic Throw
Expelliarmus was majorly featured in the “Harry Potter” movie, “The Prisoner of Azkaban,” when Defence Against the Dark Arts professor and werewolf Remus Lupin introduced the spell to the Hogwarts students. But the spell was also used in other instances.
In “Hogwarts Legacy,” the spell does the same thing, except when paired with the Ancient Magic Throw Expertise Talent, enemies are relieved of the weapons they wield, turning the game even more entertaining.
This is what happens. If, for instance, an enemy wields a sword, axe, or crossbow, the Expelliarmus Charm can disarm them of these weapons and have them work against them with devastating effects. The weapons get thrown at them.
Arresto Momentum & Any Unforgivable Curse
Unforgivable Curses are vast favorites of the followers of Lord Voldemort. One of them, the Avada Kedavra, or the Killing Curse, was what killed Professor Dumbledore in “The Half-Blood Prince.”
Now, when paired with Arresto Momentum, a magical style from Dumbledore, the effects are priceless. So contrasting they add a dramatic element to the gameplay. Arresto Momentum was the spell that prevented Potter from landing a heavy fall as it slows down time. If you want to inflict more torture when unleashing one of the Unforgivable Curses, then use this pair.
The Disillusionment Charm & Flipendo
The Disillusionment Charm and Flipendo are also two of the most popular spells in “Harry Potter.” While it works best with other spells like Petrificus Totalus, using it with Flipendo will be more fun. For instance, the damage isn’t real when sneaking up behind your foe and flipping them with Flipendo, but following it up with the Disillusionment Charm will give you your last laugh.
Glacius & Diffindo
Also known as the Freezing Spell, the Glacius Charm can freeze targets with icy-cold air created from your wand’s tip. In turn, this freezes water, extinguishes fires, and cools off Fire-Dwelling Salamanders. There’s a spellbook for this charm.
Meanwhile, Diffindo, the Severing Charm, is used to cut things accurately and precisely. However, if used improperly, this spell can cause injury or death. This magic is learned in Charms classes at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Very minor spells that you won’t even recall now if you’ve read the books before. However, the combination of Glacius and Diffindo is fantastic in the game.
With Glacius freezing enemies and Diffindo shattering them into shards of ice, you can deal some of the highest damage combos in “Hogwarts Legacy.” Plus, when you perform these with your Mastery Talents unlocked, the results are even more chaotic, resembling the scene when hundreds of crystal balls smashed into pieces in “The Order of the Phoenix.”
Accio & Descendo
Accio is among the most helpful spells in “Hogwarts Legacy.” Countless times, Potter used it to save himself, such as from the Hungarian Horntail in “The Goblet of Fire,” when he summoned his Firebolt.
One of the best spells to use Accio within the game is Descendo, provided that you have Accio and Descendo Masteries. While you pull enemies closer to the target with Accio, Descendo creates a shockwave that puts a deadline in their lives.
Transformation & Bombarda
The Transformation Spell doesn’t seem to match with combat, but you can use it in battles in this video game to turn enemies into barrels. Furthermore, when paired with the Transformation Mastery Talent, these barrels shall explode. Bombarda can be followed through to create the most impactful explosion in the game as you throw the barrels to explode using the first spell.
Using these two spells as a combination deals plenty of damage. This combo is the perfect fit for those who fancy pyrotechnics.
Incendio & Crucio
This time, Unforgivable Curse Crucio takes a step forward as a one-of-a-kind combination with Incendio. In several combats in “Hogwarts Legacy,” you won’t win unless you engage yourself in duels. One such dueling feat is asking you to torture a burning enemy even more, which you can do with one of the fire spells, such as Incendio or Crucio. It takes time for you to learn how to use these two correctly.
Imperio & Petrificus Totalus
Petrificus Totalus will forever be remembered in “Harry Potter” as the spell the young Hermione Granger used against the also-young Neville Longbottom, her co-Gryffindor student.
Interestingly enough, if you find yourself encountering a gigantic troll in the game, you can use the Imperius Curse to technically remove yourself from combat and walk up for an easy one-shot with the Full Body-Bind Curse. Things get even more satisfying when used on foes who have toppled most of their allies using the effects of Imperio. It’s not a cheat, it’s a combination.
Transformation & Depulso
Transformation is back, and this time, with Depulso. Their combination is not just fun but also reliable. After transforming your foe into the barrel, you can position yourself so you can fling this barrel against them as well. Want to throw an explosive barrel? Use it with the Transformation Mastery Talent.
Alternatively, the barreled-up enemy can be flung into a wall or even off a cliff using Depulso. It instantly kills the enemy. See? You won’t need to use Avada Kevadra. Plus, unlocking the Depulso Mastery Talent releases a second shockwave, standing as an emergency when you feel you’re a bit kinda overwhelmed.
There are several Charms and Spells you can use in “Hogwarts Legacy,” some from the “Harry Potter” series and others, new. It’s interesting because these spells are immortal, with the game being set in the wizarding world over a century before the events in “Harry Potter.” Wish to make the game even more fun? Combine two of those spells and see fantastic magic happen.
