Unreal Engine 5 pertains to the latest version of the game creation platform by Epic Games. As of this time of writing, there are several games confirmed to use Unreal Engine 5. Here’s the updated list of these games. But first, let’s give you an overview of what this platform is all about.

What Really Is Unreal Engine 5?

Unreal Engine 5 is the most recent version of Unreal Engine, pertained to as one of the most powerful and renowned game engines.

This version of Unreal Engine enables the deployment of projects to Windows PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, macOS, iOS, and more.

“Bigger worlds. Bigger stories. More Unreal.” is how Unreal Engine 5 describes itself.

Now, let’s head to the games.

Games Confirmed To Be Using Unreal Engine 5

‘Fortnite’

“Fortnite” is the online video game developed by the same team behind Unreal Engine 5. In “Fortnite,” there are three different game modes. But, despite being distinct, these modes share the same general gameplay and game engine. These game modes are Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite: Save the World, and Fortnite Creative. All exciting.

‘The Matrix Awakens’

“The Matrix Awakens” also comes from Epic Games, but this time, Epic Games developed this game using Unreal Engine 5 in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures, alongside various other companies.

The game features Trinity (which was portrayed by Carrie-Anne Moss) and Neo (portrayed by Keanu Reeves), together with photorealistic 3D-scanned models of both actors from the present time, also portrayed by them, in cinematic and QTE shooter scenes wherein the gamer can take control of IO, a character Epic Games introduced using Unreal’s MetaHuman creator tool.

‘Mortal Online 2’

“Mortal Online 2” is an example of a game made by a different developer (not Epic Games), but is confirmed to be using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.

This game is the sequel to Star Vault’s long-running first-person sandbox MMORPG. Here, players can explore a vast open sandbox world as they decide which path they will take. But gamers must know that danger lurks in every corner of this PvP full loot world. Truly unlike any other MMOs.

‘Immortals Of Aveum’

From “Mortal Online 2,” we take it to “Immortals of Aveum.” This first-person shooter game is published by Electronic Arts and developed by Ascendant Studios.”

For its gameplay, “Immortals of Aveum” is played from a first-person point-of-view. It features around 25 spells, from offensive to defensive magic, divided between green, red, and blue types.

For its storyline, it begins with thieves Jak and Luna, following a successful pickpocketing, returning to their hideout in a city called Seren, only to find their friend, Caleb, severely injured. Curious? Get started playing this game now.

‘Lords Of The Fallen’

Developed by Deck13 and CI Games, “Lords of the Fallen” is also a game confirmed to use Unreal Engine 5.

In this action role-playing video game, players embark on a journey through mysterious and far-reaching interconnected environments, facing beastly and disfigured enemies, including bosses, with the use of melee weapons like axes and hammers.

Gamers take control of Harkyn, sent on a mission to stop a powerful god’s mysterious demonic forces who wish to invade the world to reclaim it after being dethroned. It’s an action-packed game that you deserve.

‘The Witcher Polaris’

“The Witcher Polaris” is a game different from most of the other games on this list in the sense that it is still in development. It is the codename of “The Witcher 4” from the development of CD Projekt Red.

According to the developer’s latest financial report, the development of “The Witcher Polaris” is currently expanding as “Cyberpunk 2077” finally winds down now that Update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty DLC have been launched. Once this game is unveiled, it is definitely worth the wait.

‘ARK: Survival Ascended’

“ARK: Survival Ascended” is another game familiar to you, as you may have perhaps heard about it around in the news. Like “The Witcher Polaris,” it has not been released yet.

This is an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original “ARK: Survival Evolved” game. Reports say it will be released by the end of this month as an early access title, so that’s not too far from now.

Some of the features announced for this game are Unreal Engine 5 overhaul with Nanite, Lumen, and NVIDIA’s RTXDI; cross-platform multiplayer; cross-platform modding; and interactive foliage, among many others.

‘Tekken 8’

A “Tekken” game using Unreal Engine 5? Yes, you are reading that right. The Tekken game confirmed to be using the platform is “Tekken 8.”

Launching early next year, this game is co-developed by Bandai Namco Studios – the studio behind “Elden Ring” and “Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections,” among others – and Arika. “Tekken 8” is published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.

According to this game’s director, its gameplay will center on “aggressiveness” and will feature a new “Heat” gauge system, still apart from returning gameplay features from its predecessor, “Tekken 7,” such as Rage system-based attacks. Something to look forward to.
