The fall season is ongoing. Can you feel its vibe? This season is when some of the year’s most exciting occasions happen, namely Halloween and Thanksgiving. But the fall season is also all about going apple picking, getting lost in a corn maze, collecting colorful autumn leaves, and playing touch football, among others.

In the world of gaming, particularly in the farm life simulation game “Stardew Valley,” the fall season there is just as wonderful as that in the human world. Aside from making your life elixir, finding Baba Yaga’s house, showing off your Grange Display, and stocking up for winter, to name a few, “Stardew Valley” gamers should make the most of this season growing the best crops. What are the best crops to grow during the fall season in the game? Let’s find out.

Best Fall Crops In ‘Stardew Valley’

Thinking that the number one fall crop is Pumpkin? Take “Stardew Valley” differently.

The Best Fall Crop: Sweet Gem Berry

Sweet Gem Berry has the crown. It is the undisputed best crop in “Stardew Valley” for the fall season. It may be rare yet very valuable as it sells for a whopping 3,000g, yet it could take nearly the whole season to grow.

You can buy Sweet Gem Berry as a rare seed from the Traveling Cart for 1,000g. This crop takes 24 days to grow and has a maximum harvest of just one. Though you can buy the rare seeds all year round, they will only grow during the fall. You might want to try making your own rare seeds, too, by placing a Sweet Gem Berry in the Seed Maker. Good luck!

Runner-Up: Pumpkin

We hate to bring it up to you, but Pumpkin is only second place. Like in the human world, it is also a vegetable associated with the fall season in the game. And you’ll love it as it is one of the few crops (alongside Cauliflower and Melon) in the game that can grow into a Giant Crop.

Three Pumpkins planted in a three-by-three pattern have a one percent chance to combine in order to make a Giant Crop, which, take note, drops 15 to 21 items once harvested.

Furthermore, a Pumpkin takes 13 days to grow maturely, but a Giant Crop will not necessarily appear on the 13th day since it can happen at any point.

Buy your Pumpkin Seeds either from Pierre’s Store or JojaMart.

Cranberry

Next up are Cranberries. It has been said that this crop is a must-have for anybody looking to have a successful harvest during the fall in “Stardew Valley.” They sell for 75g each. Profitable, right?

A Cranberry takes seven days to grow, produce a maximum harvest of five, and regrow in five days. In addition, an average Cranberry plant will produce two crops instead of just one.

Fairy Rose

Curious about its name? Well, Fairy Rose got its name because the sweet smell of this beautiful flower is said to attract fairies, according to old folk legends. But Fairy Roses are beyond just that.

A Fairy Rose can produce Fairy Rose Honey if grown within five squares of a Bee House. Fairy Rose Honey costs 680g, way more than a standard jar of honey, which costs 100g.

Aside from producing uber-valuable honey, this crop also has healing effects.

Grapes

Grapes are also very profitable. These crops can be sold for a base price amounting to 80g each.

If Fairy Rose produces profitable Fairy Rose Honey, Grapes that are stockpiled can be used to make Wine, which is three times the price when sold.

Grapes take 10 full days to grow in the game, produce a maximum harvest of six, and regrow every three days. Worth checking out.

Artichoke

Another recommended crop to grow in “Stardew Valley” during the fall season is the Artichoke, a vegetable with spiny leaves.

It takes only eight days to grow the crop from its Seeds, which you can get from Pierre’s General Store after the second year.

Artichokes can restore your energy and health, not to mention how they can be sold at higher prices with the Tiller Profession.

Eggplant

Another promising crop to grow during the fall season in the game is the Eggplant. Profitable? Yes. You can sell Eggplants for a base price of 60g each. Plus, you may also turn them into Eggplant Parmesans if you wish to gain more profits.

Eggplants produce a maximum harvest of five, require five days to grow, and regrow in five days.

Corn

Then, you have Corn. You can sell Corn for a base price of 50g each. Plus, for more profit, you can turn the crop into cornmeal or popcorn, even.

Corn takes 14 days to grow, produces a maximum harvest of four crops, and regrows every four days. Weigh your options.

Bubbling Up

Bubbling up on this ranking of the best fall crops in “Stardew Valley” are:

  • Amaranth
  • Bok Choy
  • Beet
  • Sunflower
