The soon-to-launch “Resident Evil 4” remake has changed its release date information on Steam, causing some gamers and fans to worry that the upcoming survival-horror game might get delayed on its release date.

Capcom has already officially announced the “Resident Evil 4” remake in 2022 and wasted no time confirming its launch date slated this March 24th.

However, there have been changes to Capcom’s “Resident Evil” 4 remake’s launch plans since the video game developer and publisher’s initial announcement. When Capcom first announced the “Resident 4” remake, the game was going to be a next-gen exclusive. Meaning to say, fans can access the game on their PCs, PlayStation 5s, and Xbox Series Xs.

During the months since the remake announcement, Capcom added PlayStation 4 to the list of gaming consoles and platforms supporting the game. Also, rumors have it that an Xbox One version of the “Resident Evil 4” remake may happen too, but nothing official regarding this has been announced as of press time.

But fans, really, should not worry. This is because, furthermore, nothing official has been announced concerning a potential delay on the “Resident Evil 4” remake’s release date. Yet, there may be some more reasons why fans are worrying.

The “Resident Evil 4” remake’s page on Steam has changed the game’s release date from the original launch date this March 24th to a vague “Coming Soon” statement. This has led some gamers to conclude that Capcom may be planning to push back the game remake’s release date. If so, they will be among the many games recently that are pushing back their release dates.

But there should be nothing to worry, actually. So gamers, relax. Valve recently changed how the Stream storefront handles release dates, allowing publishers to simply list the release dates as “Coming Soon” instead of giving specific information. It has resulted in various games having their launch dates changed to a “Coming Soon” statement on Steam, including Bethseda’s open-world sci-fi RPG “Starfield,” but that does not mean the release date will be pushed back. Well, at least for now.

Moreover, this is not the first time that a change to “Resident Evil 4’s” information on Steam has made fans rather uncomfortable. Capcom also recently changed the title of the original “Resident Evil 4” game on Steam, referring to it as “Resident Evil 4 (2005)” to differentiate it from the upcoming game remake, which is simply going by the title “Resident Evil 4” once it drops this March. Maybe fans are just paranoid.

But, there are going to be some changes to the gameplay and story of “Resident Evil 4” with the remake, but fans should have nothing to do but wait for the launch to get the full scope of what really will entail the survival-horror classic’s remake.

As you have read, “Resident Evil 4” launches this March 24th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

“Resident Evil 4” is a survival horror third-person shooter game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom. It was originally launched for the GameCube last January 11th, 2005.
