About Wordle
For those of you who came to this article but have not played Wordle yet, we got you, we got you. Here are the essential things to know about the game.
Wordle is a browser-based word game created and developed by a Brooklyn-based Welsh software engineer named Josh Wardle (see the wordplay?). The game is hosted on The New York Times.
In the game, players have six chances or attempts to guess a five-letter word daily. Feedback is given for each guess in the form of colored tiles telling whether the letters match (including the position), occupy the right place on the grid (but are not the letters on those positions), or not at all.
How To Play Wordle
Wordle is an exciting, mind-stimulating word game on a grid. The goal for the player is for them to guess the hidden five-letter word correctly for that day by simply entering the letters on the grid.
With each guess the player enters, the tiles may light up yellow or green, giving hints about whether you’ve guessed them right.
- Seeing Green means that the letter appears in the same place in the answer or solution.
- Yellow means the letter is in the solution word but in a different position on the grid.
- Grey means the letter is not in the solution word.
Basing it from those colors, you can slowly learn more about which letters are part of the solution word, giving you hints and information toward guessing the word of the day.
Remember, you only have six attempts in total. If you are not able to guess the solution word by your sixth guess, you have lost the day’s Wordle.
You can only play just one Wordle per day. Once you’ve completed the day’s Wordle, whether you guess the word right or not, you will have to wait until tomorrow to play again.
If you guess the words continuously daily, you get a winning streak.
