Your Guide On How To Pair Meta Quest 3 Controllers

Meta, the parent company of your favorite social networking platforms and instant messaging apps – Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp – not only ventures into these but also offers you a whole new gaming and viewing experience: virtual reality. And they do it with the Meta Quest console series. 

The recent one is the Meta Quest 3, whose launch was covered by the PVP Live team. Developed by Reality Labs, this is a standalone virtual reality headset featuring updated hardware with the attributes and elements of the Quest Pro, including a much thinner form factor and lenses, plus additional sensors and color passthrough cameras intended for mixed reality software. 

Its controllers, known as Touch controllers, are as crucial as the joysticks of your PlayStation console. But how do you actually pair these controllers? Find out in this guide.

Pre-Requisites 

Before you can do so, you must prepare:

• Meta Quest 3 headset
• Meta Quest 3 controllers 
• Mobile phone built-in with the Meta Quest app 
• Wi-Fi connectivity

The Steps Are Plenty

Pairing your Meta Quest 3 controllers can be tedious, so this PVP Live guide is here to help. Follow these steps: 

1. Make sure both the headset and the mobile phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi. 
2. Once this is confirmed, launch your Meta Quest App. 
3. Tap Menu located in the bottom right-hand corner of your phone’s display. 
4. Of course, the menu window will open. On top of the display, you will spot three rows of brightly colored rounded squares. 
5. This time, tap Devices, the second icon from the left in the second row. It is easy to identify this icon as it is gray and has a VR headset symbol in it. 
6. Now, you’ll be able to see the Meta Quest 3 displayed.
7. This step will have you scrolling down until you read the section Headset Settings.
8. Here, tap Controller.
9. You will then see a list of every controller. Choose Connect New Controller.  
10. Then, you will see every controller option that can connect with your headset. This will be as a list. 
11. Now, choose the controller you wish to connect first. For instance, should you wish to connect your right controller, obviously, tap Connect Right Controller. 
12. After that, you must pair this right controller. On the right controller, press and hold the Meta Quest button and the B button for four seconds.
13. By this time, your right controller is now connected to the Quest’s headset.
14. To connect the left controller, yes, you guessed it, tap Connect Left Controller. 
15. To pair the left controller, you must press and hold the Menu and Y buttons this time for four seconds.

Pairing is done. 

Unpairing Your Controllers

If you wish to unpair your Mets Quest 3 controllers, first, be sure the headset is on, prior to you opening the Meta Horizon mobile app on your phone. Then, launch the Meta Horizon app. Then, tap at the top of the Horizon Feed.

Find Devices and tap this area. Now, choose the headset from which you want to unpair your controllers. Then, tap Headset Settings and Controllers after. Choose the controller you wish to unpair before tapping Unpair Controller.

Unpairing is complete.
