Old age is an attestation of wisdom, expertise, maturity, and experience. Because older people have been living longer than younger ones, they have the life experience and emotional maturity that others turn to for advice.
The same is true in the world of gaming. For instance, the action role-playing game “Genshin Impact” has a plethora of characters that you will love. Among them are the oldest characters whose successes are seen in their legacies – some even thousands of years old. Let us get to know them a bit better.
Get To Know Some Of The Oldest Characters In ‘Genshin Impact’
Age: Around 6,000 years old
Zhongli is, thus far, the oldest character in “Genshin Impact.” The game’s playable Geo character, he is a consultant of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and later revealed to be the Geo Archon, Morax, who has taken the route to experience the world from a mortal’s perspective. Geo is one of the seven elements, just like the other elements attached to the characters you will learn about in this list.
Age: More than 3,000 years old
If Zhongli is a playable Geo character in “Genshin Impact,” Ganyu is a playable Cryo character in the game. She is a half-qilin Adeptus under contract with the Geo Archon Morax, as well as serves as the Liyue Qixing’s general secretary.
For context, a half-qilin in the game is an illuminated beast, a creature with supernatural abilities. The adepti, meanwhile, are a group in Liyue consisting of illuminated beasts and gods. Liyue Qixing is a committee of seven business leaders and merchants governing Liyue, a nation in the game.
3. Raiden Shogun
Age: Around 3,000 years old
Also one of the oldest characters in the game is the Raiden Shogun. She is a playable Electro character. Her body is composed of two beings. One is Ei, the current Electro Archon of Inazuma, and the other is the Shogun, the puppet Ei created to stand as the ruler of Inazuma in her stead.
Age: Around 2,600 years old
No, he’s not your Starbucks cup size, but he shares the name, nonetheless. Venti is “Genshin Impact’s” playable Anemo character. He is the free-spirited and wine-loving bard of Mondstadt – one of the seven regions of Teyvat, the primary setting of the game – being at odds with his identity as Barbatos, the Anemo Archon.
Age: 2,000 years old
Sounds like the Italian word that means “hello” and “goodbye,” doesn’t it? But Xiao is different.
A playable Anemo character in the game, Xiao is an adeptus – who goes by the name Alatus – and the sole surviving member of the five foremost Yakshas Morax dispatched to vanquish the demonic spirits plaguing Liyue.
In “Genshin Impact,” Yakshas were a race of fierce illuminated beasts. Morax is the Goetic name of Rex Lapis, the God of Contracts.
Xiao currently lives at Wangshu Inn and usually restrains himself from huge crowds, as well as from social interactions. Like what some older people would.
6. The Traveler
Age: At least 500 years old
Meanwhile, the Traveler is a playable protagonist in the game. In the opening cutscene, twin siblings from a different world would travel across the universe until an unknown god obstructs their path.
Then, gamers get to choose either Aether (male) or Lumine (female) as the Traveler and the Traveler’s Sibling are captured. Once they are, their ability to travel is sealed, leaving them stranded in Teyvat.
But, they save Paimon, the game’s deuteragonist, by fishing her out of the water. Paimon then becomes their company as their new travel buddy. Together, they embark on a journey to find The Seven – the seven gods presiding over the seven regions of Teyvat – and reunite with the lost sibling of the Traveler. Quite a tear-jerker, right?
7. Yae Miko
Age: At least 500 years old
Also referred to as Guuji Yae or the Guuji, Yae Miko is a playable Electro character in “Genshin Impact.” She isn’t just old and experienced but quite business-minded, too. A kitsune (Japanese fox) of many facets, Yae Miko oversees the Grand Narukami Shrine, owns the Yae Publishing House, and is the servant and friend of Eternity, who is also the Raiden Shogun.
Age: 500 years old
Nahida is “Genshin Impact’s” playable Dendro character. As Lesser Lord Kusanali (the God of Wisdom), Nahida is determined to have a more substantial presence in Sumeru (another region in Teyvat), especially now that she has been freed from her extensive confinement in one of the locations in the game, the Sanctuary of Surasthana.
Age: Around 400 years old
Not really bearing a name like the Traveler, the Wanderer, meanwhile, is a playable supporting character in “Genshin Impact.” He was once the sixth member of the 11 Fatui Harbingers until he betrayed them after he took the Electro Gnosis (Gnosis is an item used by The Seven) and severed all ties within the Fatui. The Fatui are a malicious and corrupt delegation of “diplomats” in the game.
Meanwhile, here are honorable mentions for the oldest characters in “Genshin Impact.”
Right now, we know what you are thinking. These characters are old, aged hundreds to thousands of years, but why do they look young, you ask? Well, “Genshin Impact” is set in a world where gods live, so you get the picture.
Those are some of the oldest characters introduced in “Genshin Impact” thus far. By now, you have more idea about who they are when you encounter them in the game. They will make you say that, really, age is just a number.
