Nintendo has announced that the forthcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct will take place next week, as well as the date and hour for fans to tune in. The business earlier stated that an Animal Crossing-themed livestream would be held this month, albeit no specific date had been set.
Since its release on the Nintendo Switch in 2020, Animal Crossing has been one of the most popular games, although it has received growing criticism from gamers. New Horizons challenges users to create an island paradise, expand their list of neighbors, construct goods, and gather bugs, fish, and artwork to complete the museum’s collection.
After that, the game doesn’t give fans much incentive to keep playing due to a lack of continuous gameplay. Many people have been disappointed with ACNH since features, NPCs, and goods featured in prior Animal Crossing games are not accessible in the Nintendo Switch edition. While ACNH has always been popular for design, those hoping for additional gameplay have been out of luck.
The official Animal Crossing account announced the news on social media, stating that fans would finally be able to learn more about the game’s next significant update on October 15. Beginning at 7 a.m. PT, users will receive “approximately 20 minutes” of information about the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons content. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct arrives just a few weeks before the material is set to be released in the game, with the update slated for November.

Nintendo already revealed that fan-favorite Animal Crossing NPC Brewster would appear in the upcoming game update, bringing the Roost Cafe to the museum. The character is well-known for making excellent coffee, which will be a new addition to New Horizons. While Brewster was revealed during the Nintendo Direct in September, fans have yet to learn what the character – and the café – will offer to the game in terms of new content, goods, and gameplay.
It’s anticipated that Nintendo has some more surprises in store for the next Direct. Along with new gameplay, there is a slew of quality-of-life enhancements that fans have been requesting since the game’s release, such as the option to bulk-buy goods like clothing or Nook Miles Tickets. Fans won’t have to wait long to find out what’s new in Animal Crossing since they’ll be able to see it for themselves in November.
