There are over a hundred Catalysts in “Destiny 2,” so it can be hard to choose, you guys. However, these factors play a crucial role when selecting the perfect Catalyst: weapon usage frequency, stat improvements, Catalyst perk synergy, activity type, and ease of getting it, of course. In this article, we will focus on the Thunderlord Catalyst.
What Is The Thunderlord Catalyst?
Basically, the Catalyst for your Thunderlord can boost reload speeds and add the Feeding Frenzy perk, thus enhancing rapid reloads following multiple kills. How can you acquire it? Read on.
What Does The Thunderlord Catalyst Do?
In a simple yet significant way, the Thunderlord Catalyst further improves the weapon it works with. Moreover, you can reload the magazine from reserves with a lightning strike. It is promising since machine guns are notorious for their exhilaratingly long reload times, so they can benefit from having the Auto-Loading Holster perk.
You heard about Catalyst perks a while ago, and the Auto-Loading Holster perk is a Catalyst perk that makes Thunderlord immensely easier and simpler to wield and use. No need to have reloading mods. Given how often the lightning strikes happen, it can be concluded that you won’t need to spend time reloading the weapon, making it ideal for PvE.
How To Get The Thunderlord Catalyst
There is just one way to obtain the Thunderlod Exotic Catalyst and that is as a random drop from a Crucible match or Gambit match, or Strike completions. Because it is random, no trick will work that can guarantee you’ll acquire the Catalyst. Thus, keep playing in those activities until you get the Catalyst. You might want to consider playing the Rumble matches since they’re shorter. But, unless you don’t want to spend time acquiring it, Rumble matches are not the best PvP, though.
Also, generally, drop rates for Exotic Catalysts like the Thunderlord added at the beginning of a new season are generous, so it won’t take you so long to unlock them. More so, they are permanent additions, so it doesn’t take a sweat. But there are other things to know.
Once you have the Thunderlord Catalyst, you must get 500 kills with the weapon to fully upgrade the Catalyst and unleash the Return Stroke, usually taking a while with regular plays on PvE.
Here are some places where you can farm and upgrade this Catalyst:
- Altars of Sorrow Public Event on the Moon: A public event that features various enemies. It’s free to all players.
- Grasp of Avarice loot cave: At the beginning of the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon, opponents will use the loot cave to spawn infinitely. Be sure you don’t collect the “Exotic Engrams” they’re dropping since they are, well, fake. Also, avoid depositing any at the crystal in the loot since this causes the Dungeon to progress and the enemies to halt spawning. Note: You must first own the “Destiny 2 Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack” to play Grasp of Avarice.
Is Getting The Thunderlord Catalyst Worth It?
Catalysts, or Exotic Catalysts, are unique items found in various activities. Once you receive or get a Catalyst from its Exotic weapon, you can use this Catalyst with the weapon. Without a Catalyst, a weapon cannot be Masterworked. Masterworking is upgrading a weapon for some legendary traits. So, is the Thunderlord Catalyst worth it? Beyond measure.
