In the most recent update from Square Enix, the fifth and last region in Excillant has been unveiled along with the job classes found there.
The marketing efforts for Bravely Default 2 have been exciting to say the least, as all of the details regarding the nations of Excillant and the different job classes have come from Japanese sources only. Square Enix released a Japanese trailer showcasing Bravely Default 2’s Rimedahl region, and this newest batch of screenshots was posted to the game’s Japanese site. The focus in Western markets has surely been the demo of the game.
However, for fans looking to get the inside scoop on the game, the Japanese information drops are the way to go. The newest details centralize on the Military Nation of Holograd, depicted as a nation with more than 300 years of history began when a single hero united the tribes of the barren wastelands.
The nation is aggressive, taking over neighboring countries and initiating conflict. While that might seem similar to the role of Eisenberg from the first entries in the franchise, Bravely Default 2 is breaking away from the previous titles, so expects the resemblances to end there.
Living in Holograd will be several asterisk holders that will give the main characters new jobs to take such as Adamas Holograd, the heir of the hero who established Holograd. He prioritizes strength above all else and controls the Hellblade Asterisk.
The Hellblade job lets players use their own health to charge their demonic sword with elemental attributes and strike down enemies. It appears like having a Priest in the party will help balance the disadvantages of this job.
Maddock Ronsdale, a Holograd general who has sworn loyalty to Adamas despite having some reservations. He holds the Judgement Asterisk, which balances offense with a solid defense. It can cast a barrier on all allies to cancel out damage.
Mora holds the Phantom Asterisk and works as one of the assistants of Adamas while hiding her feelings for him. The Phantom job class utilizes two short swords and has extreme evasion and speed to avoid the attacks of enemies and hit quickly. A classic job that reminds players of the Ninja job from the Final Fantasy games.
