A brand-new season of “Bungo Stray Dogs” is coming your way this July. The team behind the anime based on Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa’s manga announced this on Wednesday, along with the first promotional video and visual by character designer and chief animation director Nobuhiro Arai.
“Bungo Stray Dogs” follows the members of the Armed Detective Agency as they attempt to protect Yokohama from the mafia. The story mainly focuses on the weretiger Atsushi Nakajima, who joins others gifted with supernational powers to fulfill various tasks, including running a business, solving mysteries, and carrying out missions the agency assigns.
‘Bungo Stray Dogs’ Season 5 plot
There are no official details about the plot of the fifth season, so you will have to wait until it airs this July. However, there are rumors about this.
It has been said that the fifth season will mark the very first time the anime might run up against its manga’s current endpoint.
In response to a post on Reddit about the “Bungo Stray Dogs” fifth season announcement, some users theorized that rather than basing solely on the manga to which it is almost caught up, the upcoming season will likely adapt one or more of its light novels instead. Eight “Bungo Stray Dogs” light novels exist.
By comparison, the fourth episode began with a three-episode adaptation of the light novel before covering the events from 24 chapters in its manga. As of the time of the fifth season’s announcement, 23 manga chapters are unadapted. Thus, they conclude that the upcoming season will first adapt the light novel before moving to the manga. The fifth season may well cover the story of a light novel and both of the two most recent manga story arcs in full.
