Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is returning several essentials of the Black Ops series. The developers have confirmed zombies will be making a return to Black Ops Cold War via a new trailer that showcases several returning fan-favorite features.
The upcoming zombies mode will have a one-of-a-kind progression system, traditional perks, and various Cold War weapons to aid players in defeating hordes of the undead. While most weapons are new to the fans, getting and upgrading them might be familiar to veteran Call of Duty players.
Like the past zombies modes, players will have the ability to purchase weapons on the wall or buy them through the randomized mystery box. Aside from being accessed through the wall and mystery box, weapons will now have various rarities that will influence their attachments and damage output.
Black Ops Cold War will also feature accessible on all modes which mean players will now have the ability to bring their customized loadouts into zombies mode. Progression will be carried on across different modes too, so players can unlock loadout upgrades while playing zombies mode.
All the weapons purchased from the wall and mystery box will have a rarity and players will have the ability to upgrade their weapons thanks to the comeback of the Pack-a-Punch apparatus in the game.
The Pack-a-Punch apparatus has been featured in countless Call of Duty zombies mode in the past. The device can be accessed to reconstruct guns by unlocking its unique upgrades. Players will have the ability to unlock transformations for the new Cold War-era weapons as well as a fan-favorite gun featured in the trailer. The ray gun is historically one of the strongest guns available in zombies mode and fans will be able to use it again in Black Ops Cold War.
Players have to go through the mode’s creepy story to progress through the maps and find a mystery box, perk machines, and Pack-a-Punch. Fan-favorite perks including the Speed Cola and Juggernog are making a comeback but with a slight adjustment. There will no longer be a restriction on the number of perks a player can carry as long as they have enough points to buy them.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War releases on November 13, and zombies mode will be one of the available modes alongside its release. However, the mode will not be available during the beta so players can just enjoy the multiplayer mode and get the hang of the game’s mechanics.
The multiplayer beta will be available starting October 10 to 12 for PlayStation 4 players and October 17 to 19 on other platforms.
