Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Giving Away Free Loot Bundles During Season 1 Launch

Free content is arriving to Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War as the update for its first season comes closer, and players will be able to redeem free loot bundles containing cosmetics just by logging in the game. There will be two different kinds of bundles, each packed with various items and cosmetics players can use to personalize their weapons and characters.

Activision revealed last week that the Season 1 update has been delayed from December 10 to December 16, and the quickly approaching launch date is set to go down as one of the largest in the franchise’s history.

The new update is seen as the way forward to maximize the potential of Black Ops Cold War, the series’ latest addition. After getting mostly positive feedback on its launch week, the title’s low scores apparently imply that players are starting to feel bored. As for Call of Duty Warzone, it continues to be loved by faithful players but there are constant calls for new content to refresh the gameplay which the developers are planning to change with the Season 1 update.

Based on a post on the official Twitter account of Call of Duty, the new update rolls out on December 15, 2020, at 11 PM PT. The Certified Bundle contains a weapon charm, an epic reticle, a Ground Patrol Assault Rifle blueprint, and a “Barrio” Garcia skin to top it all off. In the meantime, the Field Research Bundle contains a “Scorch” Park skin, an abyssal discovery calling card, an excavator SMG blueprint, and more.

It is certain that players are yearning for new ways to experience Call of Duty. There is proof to suggest that the new direction is working so far too. For instance, more than 6 million fans played Call of Duty Warzone during the first 24 hours since its launch.

All of this developed hype for the new update. As part of the first season, Warzone will be getting Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War new maps, blueprints, and weapons as well as Rebirth Island. This is anticipated to add a new flavor to how the battle royale game plays out. In addition, Black Ops Cold War is also getting itself new maps, modes, and the long-anticipated comeback of the 2v2 Gunfight.

The first season update is unlike any other the series has ever done before, introducing massive new content for both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. In spite of consistent productive earnings, Activision acquired more than $500 million via microtransactions from 2019’s Warzone and Modern Warfare, the future growth of the Call of Duty franchise is hugely dependent on the success of its first season. A huge focus will be placed on how players react to the biggest free content release in the history of Black Ops.
