There’s a new gaming monitor in town from Dell, and you’re going to love this even more because it only comes with a $299.99 price tag. You read that right. Here’s the news story.

The company has launched a brand-new gaming monitor called Dell G2724D. It’s affordable and has loads of exciting features.

It features 1440p resolution, support for HDR, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a 27-inch IPS LCD that provides a 1ms response rate. Aside from its beautiful design, it also provides an ergonomic stand from where you can adjust its height.

“[27-inch] QHD Fast IPS monitor with VESA DisplayHDR™ 400, versatile connectivity options, and lifelike details for incredibly immersive gaming,” Dell said on the official page of this product.

More details about its features

Aside from the attributes enumerated earlier, this Dell G2724D also features a matte black and gray plastic chassis. Aside from these, it has an ergonomic stand that goes with the monitor, allowing the person to adjust its height, tilt, or swivel the monitor. Believe it or not, the stand can pivot 90 degrees so you can use this monitor in portrait orientation.

This budget gaming monitor also incorporates NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium display synchronization technologies. This monitor stands out from above the rest because of its excellent color accuracy, delivering a vast color gamut of 99 percent sRGB, and following the stringent and precise VESA DisplayHDR 400 standards. Not only those, but it features a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, as well as a generous viewing angle of 178 degrees.

Moreover, concerning connectivity, the options here with Dell G2724D include two DisplayPort 1.4 ports and an HDMI 1.4 port. It is also compact, weighing only 5.95 kilograms.

‘The new standard bearer for budget gaming monitors’

For avid gamers who want to own a superb gaming monitor without slashing their budget too much, this Dell G2724D is the perfect choice.

PCWorld’s Matthew Smith, a technology journalist, has recently reviewed the G2724D gaming monitor. He said that with all its features, it is “the new standard bearer for budget gaming monitors.” And it is.

“Gamers looking to buy a monitor on a budget have a lot of choices, but sorting through them can be difficult. Small flaws and details can hold back the appeal of many inexpensive monitors,” Smith wrote. “The Dell G2724D is an alluring and reliable budget pick that delivers everything gamers expect and has no significant flaws.”

While Smith also pointed out its features, as we here at PVP Live discussed a while ago, he spotted some cons, particularly the absence of USB connectivity or a 3.5-millimeter audio-out, and lackluster HDR.

Nonetheless, the PCWorld review said this monitor “provides good image quality, strong motion clarity, and broad Adaptive Sync support at an obtainable price.”
