Not officially launching until February 17th, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is already being anticipated all over the world. The anticipation and excitement are just building now that more official features are getting revealed.
One of these is the charging bypass feature for the smartphone series, which will benefit a lot of gamers. Here’s the scoop.
Take care of your battery better
Samsung introduced several subtle improvements with its Galaxy S23 and its pre-loaded One UI 5.1 interface. Among these new features is the charging bypass option on the Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23+, and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. This feature could be very useful and helpful for gamers or, actually, anybody who want to take care of their battery better.
The Pause USB Power Delivery feature, which can be found in the Game Booster settings of Galaxy S23, allows your phone to supply the input power directly to the processor. What does this mean? It means that the battery of the phone will not get charged when this feature is enabled. Bypassing the power of the charger directly to the chipset generates less heat, thus leading to enhanced thermals and better-sustained performance.
Helps with the battery’s health
This feature also helps with your battery’s health. When your phone is not charged continuously, it reduces battery charge cycles, thereby keeping the battery healthy in the long run.
This feature is currently only available on the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. However, as of press time, we are not yet certain if this feature is restricted to newer hardware or if a more recent version of Game Booster will also introduce this feature to older smartphones.
Here are more details of how this feature works, for instance, on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Galaxy S23 Ultra consumes 6W of power when the battery bypass feature is enabled. But when it is disabled, the phone consumes 17W of power. Hopefully, Samsung will introduce this feature to more of its smartphones and tablets in the future.
