The brains behind your favorite animes have all the licenses to be creative when painting their characters. Possibilities in the making of animes are so vast, unlike when producing real-life dramas.

Specific attributes like dazzling white hair may not be seen a lot in the real world, but the realm of animes has many characters sporting this look. Here are the best and most popular male anime characters with white hair.

1. Satoru Gojo From ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’

Gojo is one of the main protagonists in the “Jujutsu Kaisen” anime series. To begin with, he is a special-grade jujutsu sorcerer known as the strongest among the rest.

He is also the Gojo clan’s pride, being the first-ever person to inherit both Six Eyes and the Limitless – innate gifts and techniques – in four centuries. Gojo works as a teacher at the Tokyo Jujutsu High, using this influence to protect and train his young and strong allies.

Aside from his beautiful snow-white hair, his Six Eyes are in vibrant blue, and he is very tall, lean, muscular, and very attractive in his late 20s.

2. Ken Kaneki From ‘Tokyo Ghoul’

“Tokyo Ghoul” is another anime that has a character with gorgeous white hair – in the persona of Kaneki. Kaneki is the main protagonist of the series. He is Touka Kirishima’s husband and Ichika Kaneki’s dad.

Previously, he studied Japanese literature at Kamii University. What a brilliant guy. But, living a normal life quickly changed for him after the kakuhou of Rize Kamishiro (kakuhou is a sac-like organ only found in ghouls; Kamishiro is a ghoul) was transplanted into him, thereby transforming him into a one-eyed ghoul.

Kaneki originally had black hair, but it changed to white after some circumstances happened in the series.

3. Kakashi Hatake From ‘Naruto’

You bet Hatake will be part of this list. “Naruto” is a very popular and iconic anime, and so is Hatake, being one of its famous characters.

He is one of the main protagonists in the “Naruto” manga and anime series. In “Naruto’s” story, he is the teacher of Team 7 – a team formed under his leadership – consisting of the series’ main characters, Naruto Uzumaki,  Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha.

Besides his spiky white hair, Hatake is tall, fit, and fair-skinned. He has dark eyes, with the left having a small scar vertically above it. To cover this scarred eye, he wears a forehead protector titled to the left side of his face and a mask that covers the lower half of his face.

4. Near From ‘Death Note’

Another popular male anime character sporting white hair is Near from “Death Note.” Near, otherwise referred to as Nate River, is the young detective who succeeds L (also a renowned detective) after the latter dies.

But Near is no good guy. He is one of the main antagonists of the story’s final arc. He heads an organization called SPK (Special Provision for Kira – Kira is a mass murder), which was formed to catch Kira.

Near is a young, slender, and fair-skinned guy with a petite build and gray eyes, matched with his shaggy, platinum-white hair, which he also often plays with.

5. Killua Zoldyck From ‘Hunter X Hunter’

Of course, Zoldyck won’t be forgotten. The deuteragonist in “Hunter x Hunter,” he is the middle child of the Zoldyck family and the best buddy of Gon Freecss, the story’s main protagonist.

Zoldyck’s silver hair is styled spiky, appearing gracefully with his blue eyes. His eyes change shape depending on his mood. For instance, if he is in assassination mode, his eyes narrow and sharpen. Quite interesting.

6. Shoto Todoroki From ‘My Hero Academia’

Let’s consider Todoroki on this list. He – popular by his mononym, Shoto – is the tritagonist in Kōhei Horikoshi’s “My Hero Academia.”

Todoroki is the only child who inherited the Quirks of his parents, Endeavor and Rei Todoroki, which is why he is often separated from his siblings.

Now, here’s something interesting. His white hair is not all over. His hair is split between white on the right side and crimson red on the left. This unusual coloring is due to his Quirk. This hair of his does not pass his neck. He also wears bangs parted twice so as not to obscure his vision.

7. Shogo Makishima From ‘Psycho-Pass’

Makishima’s white hair is just as evil as he is. He is a criminally asymptomatic guy whose ulterior goal is to liberate Japan’s society from the Sibyl System. Sibyl System pertains to a law enforcement organization working in collaboration with the national government to manage crime in 22nd-century Japan. He believes the organization is turning people into non-thinking automatons instead of normal humans.

His messy white hair, styled in a ponytail, pairs perfectly with his amber eyes. As for his fashion, he wears various outfits, such as his yellow and black jacket over his gray pants, and his green pullover with a white-colored shirt underneath.

8. Tōshirō Hitsugaya From ‘Bleach’

Another popular male anime character with white hair is Hitsugaya of “Bleach.” No pun intended. He is the capital of the 10th division of Gotei 13, a group of Soul Reapers governing the flow of souls and protecting the afterlife realm known as Soul Society.

His short, spiked white hair that goes with his turquoise eyes will attract the attention of just about anybody.

Whether a hero or an enemy, white hair certainly looks good on these male anime characters. In the real world, to see a person with white hair denotes old age. But not in the world of animes, where this hairstyle becomes a symbol of strength and uniqueness.
