Guile and Cammy From Street Fighter Arrives In Fortnite

According to a recent leak, a few more Street Fighters are set to enter Fortnite as playable character skins. World Warriors Ryu and Chun-Li visited Epic’s immensely popular multiplayer battle royale earlier this year, training in their Hadokens and Spinning Bird Kicks for weapons and dancing emotes.

Guest characters aren’t exactly new to Fortnite, which has seen crossovers with everything from video games to TV series to real-life celebrities like Travis Scott and Ariana Grande. Even improbable gaming heavyweights like Master Chief and Kratos have made appearances in Fortnite, and the game’s penchant for bizarre guest stars was even the focus of a recent DC Comics miniseries that pitted Batman against GI Joe’s Snake-Eyes.

The most recent Fortnite tie-in was with DC’s upcoming film The Suicide Squad, with actor Idris Elba confirming his character’s appearance on social media ahead of the release of the Bloodsport skin this week.

According to a recent Twitter tweet, Fortnite’s run of guest characters isn’t going to end anytime soon. This message indicates that two more Street Fighter characters, Guile and clone assassin-turned-British M16 operator Cammy, are joining Fortnite’s ever-growing pool of playable skins.

As part of the Street Fighter Cammy and Guile Bundle, players will be able to purchase Guile’s Knuckle Buster Pickaxe, Cammy’s Delta Red Bowie Blade Pickaxe, and a V-Trigger Vector Glider pulled from Guile’s old Street Fighter 2 stage, as well as an alternate costume for each character, according to the attached announcement from Fortnite’s website.

Since Gulie and Cammy originally appeared in Street Fighter in the 1990s, the roster has increased enormously, but the World Warriors featured in the Street Fighter 2 period entry are among the most well-known in the game.

Apart from Fortnite, the Street Fighters have appeared in several crossovers, the most of them are owing to Capcom’s VS. series and a crossover with the Tekken series in 2012’s Street Fighter X Tekken. A proposed sequel, named Tekken X Street Fighter, has been in development for some time but is now “on hold” – though that didn’t stop resident big villain Akuma from making a surprise return in 2017’s Tekken 7.

Guile and Cammy are two of the most well-known Street Fighter characters, so it’s only natural that they’d be the next set of guest characters to appear in Fortnite. Beginning August 3, fans may purchase the Street Fighter Cammy and Guile Bundle from the Epic Games shop.
