Tetris 99 will soon have an event themed on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, according to Nintendo. Tetris 99 hosts tournaments that use current Nintendo games on a regular basis, the most recent of which involved Mario Golf: Super Rush.
The 23rd Maximus Cup event for Tetris 99 will feature a level and music from Skyward Sword HD, according to a new teaser on the official Nintendo YouTube channel. The festival will take place from August 6 to 9, 2021. Participants in the event will have the opportunity to permanently unlock the Skyward Sword HD theme in their game.
The player must compete in the Maximus Cup event in order to unlock the theme. They will receive points for finishing a run, regardless of where they finish. They will receive more points the higher they place throughout a run.
They will be able to unlock the theme after they have earned 100 points. Depending on how many players have been eliminated from the battle, the music that plays throughout the stage will vary. The classic item collecting theme from The Legend of Zelda series will be played if you score a Tetris (clearing a whole line).
Skyward Sword HD has already proven to be a critical and commercial success, so a crossover with Tetris 99 isn’t necessary to increase its visibility among Nintendo Switch owners. However, fans will appreciate having a more modern Legend of Zelda theme, as the only other one is from the first Legend of Zelda game.
