For Harry Potter fanatics out there who want to step up their experience with the world’s best-selling novel, we got some scoop for you. Another game version of this phenomenal book, “Hogwarts Legacy,” is soaring high in sales ahead of its slated release date.
Many experts in the gaming world tout “Hogwarts Legacy” as one of the most highly anticipated games in 2023. Its release is still around a month away, but pre-orders on Steam suggest a massive game debut.
A best-seller already even weeks ahead of its release
According to the data from Steam, “Hogwarts Legacy” was the eighth biggest top-seller in the first full week of the New Year, from January 3rd to 10th, jumping up 15 ranks compared to the previous seven days. This was likewise the title’s sixth week in the top 100 sellers on the platform despite calls for a boycott for some online communities due to “Harry Potter” author J. K. Rowling’s anti-trans comment in the past.
Since then, the game has climbed another few ranks, currently at the number five spot.
Other games on Steam’s best-selling list include “Steam Deck,” “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive,” “Dota 2,” “Apex Legends,” “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II,” and more.
What players can get when they purchase ahead of time
Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment under its Portkey Games label, the launch of “Hogwarts Legacy” this February is actually already delayed, as it was originally supposed to be available in 2021.
But what can gamers get when they pre-order? Of course, there are pre-order perks. Pre-ordering grants them the Onyx Hippogriff Mount, while an optional Digital Deluxe Edition contains a Thestral Mount, a Dark Arts Battle Arena, Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, Dark Arts Garrison Hat, and an early access period of three days.
“Hogwarts Legacy” will transport players into the mysterious lands of the Wizarding World. Playing the game, they can create potions, ride their broom around the grounds, master spell casting, and decide the fate of this world with their choices.
The game will be launched on February 10th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also be launched, but on April 4th, with the Nintendo Switch edition for release on July 25th.
