It may be untimely, meaning the newest Expansion Pack for “The Sims 4,” “Lovestruck,” wasn’t released on Valentine’s Day. It would have been better, wouldn’t it? Nonetheless, this is something to look forward to, especially if you want your Sims to reach their #RelationshipGoals.

The “The Sims 4” Lovestruck Expansion Pack took over the gaming world on July 25th. This expansion pack adds many exciting and romantic features to the game.

Aside from the Cry Me a River eyeliner for those experiencing heartbreaks, cuddling up with the new Herbert Heart Plushie, and having a so-called “breakup bed,” you can access the Cupid’s Corner app to find a match and set up dates. Choose where to go and what to do, just like in real life, such as playing games together, cuddling in bed, or taking the Romantic Blanket to a beautiful spot for a special moment. Yes, the Aladdin’s magic carpet ride.

New additions also include Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs that will determine how attracted Sims are to each other. Talk about spicy. Plus, as your Sim rises in their career, they’ll also find more opportunities to promote love.

But perhaps the most prominent new feature is the Ciudad Enamorada welcomed in “The Sims 4’s” world. This gorgeous city is the Disneyland of all things romantic. It features several spaces for your Sims to meet, flirt, and even WooHoo.

However, not every “The Sims 4” gamer is enamored.

One Redditor commented, “Lovestruck should’ve been a game pack, not an expansion pack.”

Do you agree?

Others made suggestions on the Romance skill. Gamer Dominik told Game Rant, “The Romance skill probably should have been included in the base game years ago. Locking it behind a $40 expansion is… it’s a choice alright.”

A blogger on The Sims Resource detailed what they don’t like about the new Expansion Pack. These are the Create-a-Sim feature, costume custom bed options, the few numbers of lots in Ciudad Enamorada, the hotel being a rabbit hole, and how their CC breaking almost all day.

Nevertheless, the blogger said they love the theme, the design of the new city, the app, the attraction system, and the wholesome romance, among others.

Meanwhile, Deven McClure of Screen Rant bravely said the Lovestruck Expansion Pack was “a hot mess.”

“Lovestruck brings back some beloved concepts from past games like ‘The Sims 2: Nightlife’ and ‘The Sims: Hot Date’ alongside a few new ideas that make for entertaining drama, but it overall feels stretched too thin and would’ve been much better suited to a Game Pack,” McClure stated, agreeing to the Redditor from earlier.

Whether you’d go along the lines of these people, we recommend that you give “The Sims 4” Lovestruck Expansion Pack a try.
