In anime, the male characters outnumber the female characters. Sadly, it’s still a man’s world in these shows. “Naruto” is no stranger to this fact. The main protagonist himself is a guy. But, when its female characters show their strength, they’d definitely make a mark and weave their legacies in the series. Here are the most beloved women who changed how fans watch “Naruto.”

1. Sakura Haruno

Sakura is on top of several other lists, and we will agree. She was part of the original Team 7, and the seventh and last incarnation of the team. She’s a strong member, its group leader, and a certified strategist.

Fans also know that she is one of the prettiest faces in the show. Sakura began as part of Team 7 but has only been a recurring character since the first episode.

2. Kushina Uzumaki

Do you know why Kushina is significant? Well, she is none other than the mother of Naruto. Viewers never got the chance to get to know her beyond the series’ flashback scenes, but her appearances are enough to make it clear that her absence is tears for others. She doesn’t just carry the burden of having a tailed beast trapped inside her body, but she is also known for being selfless. A true mother. She is willing to risk her own life to save her village and protect her newborn baby.

3. Tsunade

Others say it’s not Sakura or Kushina who is the most impactful, but Tsunade. Hailing from both the powerful clans of Uzumaki and Senju, she’s got the best of both worlds. No wonder she’s hailed as the strongest kunoichi in the story.

Viewers will see how she rose once more and got back on track thanks to Naruto and Jiraiya. She was also regarded as the best medical-nin in history, leading Konoha as the fifth Hokage. Did you know she is the sole and only female character to have ever become a Hokage in the series?

4. Hinata Hyuga

Hinata is also one of the most beautiful women in “Naruto.” A kunoichi and her clan’s heiress, very rich at that, she was a Team 8 member. Her significance in the story is even highlighted as she was one of the closest people to Naruto.

5. Temari Nara

Fans love her because of her inspiring backstory. She carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. Supporting her psychologically damaged family, running Sunagakure, and marrying into the notoriously slack and sarcastic Nara clan – she’s juggling a lot of things. But this wonder woman makes sure everything gets done right.

6. Kaguya Ōtsutsuki

Now here’s a woman you don’t want to mess with. Kaguya started as a character who advocated for peace until she ended up being a villain. Her presence will remind you of “Star Wars’” Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader (though some would mention the creator saying they’re two different people).

Going back to our discussion, Kaguya’s clinging to betrayal and tendency to lose faith in humanity turned her into a power-hungry monster.

But, interestingly, before embracing the dark side, she was a compassionate and kind character, which is why fans also loved her until she switched sides. Spoilers ahead: Her sons were the ones who put an end to her evil.

7. Sarada Uchiha

Sarada is actually already part of “Boruto,” but nonetheless, she’s an integral part of the “Naruto” series. She is Sasuke’s daughter and Boruto’s lover. Aside from being a kunoichi from her clan, she is also a Team Konohamaru member, yearning to also become a Hokage one day.

Her backstory is a bit piercing. She grew up without a dad, so she somewhat developed an identity crisis. But, with the help of Naruto, she finally met her father, who did everything to compensate for his shortcomings by helping her discover her abilities.

8. Konan

Intelligent but calm, Konan was one of Akatsuki’s fiercest and most loyal members. She originally was a conspirator helping Pain wreak havoc on Konoha but with the motive of showing them the true meaning of suffering in the hopes of ultimately putting an end to the conflict. But here’s the twist: her goal changes eventually. As a result, she decided to ally with Naruto instead.

9. Chiyo

Chiyo is probably the wisest woman in “Naruto” as she is the grandmother of shinobi Sasori and the counselor of the Village Hidden in the Sand. But, before those, she was a well-known puppeteer and talented medical-nin. Aside from being an expert in puppets, she also excelled at developing poisons. She is feared and respected but in a good way.

Viewers saw her heart as a grandma when she showed her longing to meet her grandson after he went rogue and joined the Akatsuki. She also assisted Sakura in her battle against her grandson, despite her old age, which is obviously a sacrifice for Chiyo.

10. Hanabi Hyuga

Hanabi is Hiashi’s younger daughter and Hinata’s younger sister. Like Hinata, she is gorgeous and strong, a confident, polite, and friendly version of her sister.

Their closeness was seen in the series as her support for her sister’s feelings for Naruto was revealed. In “Boruto,” viewers saw an older and a more mature Hanabi who had become a sensei. Then, she was already a responsible aunt guiding Boruto and Himawari.

11. Ino Yamanaka

Ino is a Team 10 member and Sakura’s childhood friend. She initially appeared shallow, but her personality deepened as she matured. In addition to mastering her skills, viewers also saw her expand her knowledge.

Female characters in anime may not be plentiful, but their presence is ever-impactful. With those details about the most beloved women in “Naruto,” you’ll get to appreciate the series from the eyes of your mom, your sister, your girlfriend, your wife, or your female friend.
