The biggest game is “GTA VI,” for sure, but there are more. Here are the best new games launching in 2025 for your PC. 

‘GTA VI’ – Q3/Q4 

Fans have waited long enough for the sixth installment in the iconic “Grand Theft Auto” series, so you can now imagine what will happen, at least online, if Rockstar Games fails to fulfill its promise. But maybe it won’t since the official trailer is out, and a dedicated website is ready once it officially launches. Only, there is no release date yet except that it’s unveiling in the third or fourth quarter of the year. Technically, that’s still around a year from now. Oops. 

Nevertheless, the official synopsis has been revealed, and the game will return to Vice City following the story of a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired crime couple, Lucia and her male partner. 

‘Sid Meier’s Civilization VII’ – February 11th

But perhaps while you are waiting for “GTA VI,” you can get a dose of other games releasing earlier, such as “Sid Meier’s Civilization VII” from the award-winning strategy game series. 

This video game is of the 4X type. This means that you will oversee and manage the growth of a civilization from its early settlements to its advanced culture. That’s almost right. Set in this East Asian country in the 1700s, toward the end of the Sengoku period in real human history, “Shadows” will focus on the struggle of the Assassin Brotherhood, which has been going on for a thousand years. The brotherhood is known to fight for peace and liberty, but they’re struggling against the Templar Order, which aims for peace through control. 

You can play from the perspective of two protagonists. First is a female shinobi named Fujibayashi Naoe, and the other is an African samurai named Yasuke. They move differently and showcase a unique playstyle, allowing you to enjoy the game in your own multiple ways.

‘Slay The Spire 2’ – Within 2025

“Slay the Spire” is a roguelike deck-building video game developed by an indie studio. Here, you attempt to climb a spire of several floors built through procedural generation. You play as one of the characters who also battle various enemies and bosses. The combat happens through a collectible card game-based system. You can earn new cards as rewards for succeeding combats or other means. It is an authentic deck-building game as you know it. Now, in 2025, the second installment is unfolding, though no official particular date yet.

‘Avowed’ – February 2025 

Obsidian Entertainment, the company behind games like “The Outer Worlds” and “Pillars of Eternity,” will revolutionize your gaming perspectives with a brand-new video game titled “Avowed.” This action role-playing game allows you to cast magic, as well as use melee weapons and firearms to defeat your enemies. Crunchyroll Imposes Subscription For Most Of Its ‘One Piece’ Content

The good old days of “One Piece” are gone, especially for the fans of the anime on Crunchyroll. The Texas-based entertainment company AT&T’s WarnerMedia before Sony acquired it for over $1 billion around three years ago. 

The Sony regime over Crunchyroll has then started, and things are unfavorable for anime fans. Earlier this week, the company said it is imposing subscription-only access to most of Crunchyroll’s “One Piece” content beginning soon. 

The official Crunchyroll account on X stated, “(emoji) Heads up, One Piece fans!

Starting soon, some One Piece arcs will require a Premium Membership. But the first 206 episodes (East Blue to Sky Island) will stay free, so new fans can still start Luffy’s journey at no cost.”

In other words, the first 206 episodes of the popular anime will still be available for free, spanning from the East Blue Arc to the Sky Island Arc. After which, all the subsequent arcs will be hidden behind a paywall and will require a Premium Membership, unfortunately. 

The official Crunchyroll X account also suggested that fans should mark their calendars for each phase of this controversial update, such as on December 23rd for Water 7 to Fishman Island, January 20th for Punk Hazard to Whole Cake Island plus six specials, and February 17th for Reverie, Wano Kuni to Egghead Island.

“Catch these iconic arcs before they shift to subscription-only!” Crunchyroll wrote on X.

When you wish to unleash your fighting spirit or maybe want to vent your anger, play “Elden Ring.” Several characters in the game may be tough for you to beat, such as the Crucible Knight Duo. But here’s a PVP Live walkthrough on how to defeat these monsters. 

Who Are The Crucible Knight Duo?

Fighting with the Crucible Knight Duo is a double-whammy. You won’t just get a single knight, but a duo. They are two Crucible Knights and, mind you, they are different from each other, carrying distinct names. 

The first is a regular Crucible Knight wielding a pronged spear, while the other is known as the Ordovis, armed with a Greatsword with a unique special attacking skill. 

Your battle with the Crucible Knight Duo will be tough as they are strong contenders that will slim your chances of counterattacking. You can rarely stagger them, you cannot backstab them, and they are challenging to weaken. Here are some tips to stand your ground against them.

Where Can You Find Them? 

Sure, you will need to find them first to beat them. But can you just escape from them? Good question. No. If you want to progress through the game, there’s no other way but to beat them.

This duo boss can be found at the end of the Auriza Hero’s Grave on the plateau of the Altus.

How To Beat The Duo

They are a duo, so taking them down alone won’t do you good. Instead, summon another player for help when fighting with these bosses. Believe us, this battle will be easier if you have another person helping you. Furthermore, ensure your preferred tanky summon gets an upgrade before you proceed to the fog wall. Now, let’s get to the strategies.

Strategy

Melee Strategies

Even if the regular Knight sounds easier to beat, the best tip here is to take down the Ordovis knight first. The reason: he’ll be at the frontline more often.

Start by baiting an attack from Ordovis whenever the spear knight is decently far behind him. Stick to just one leaping heavy attack. This should be enough, starting as soon as you see the combo’s end from Ordovis. 

After you’ve gotten your attack in, roll backward. Roll backward right away and twice to avoid the attacks it will hurl against you. The requirement here: sufficient stamina. 

Now, if the spear knight ends up in front of who you’re facing now, sprint across the arena to reposition. This way, the spear knight is kept further back from Ordovis. It’s a practical move because the spear knight will sometimes cast a ranged attack, giving a chance for the other to get more distant. This way, you can battle Ordovis without the other knight stabbing you. 

Secondly, the reason why you are doing this is to punish Ordovis with a leaping heavy even if the other guy is close, and the other guy’s initial attack will go over your head more often than not.

The prerequisites: plenty of HP and flask. You’re taking risks, so you better be prepared.

Ranged Strategies

Now, for the strategies on ranged attacks. It gets more manageable for a moment until you receive lunging attacks from both knights that can catch you from a distance. To address this, target the spear knight first, then sprint around the battlefield, generally like what you did earlier. Just be patient and only attack when they are distant enough to launch a counterattack. Do those make sense? 

Once you’ve taken down the spear knight, it’s time to proceed to Ordovis. Don’t waste casting spells, especially when he’s in defense mode. Instead, wait until he gets close enough to attack, then roll away a few times. At the end of the day, you can launch an attack while he completes his combo.

The Second Phase + Healing Notes

Yes, there is a second phase, but this should be easier than the stages above. In this second phase, your opponents are better. Some moves from the first phase should be used here, but in this second phase, Ordovis will use his Tail Whip after his combos and especially after landing from his Flying Plunge. 

Meanwhile, the spear knight should be punished when it misses its Flying Plunge attack. Additionally, the Ordovis knight will begin chaining his Tail Whip. Yes, his Tail Whip, but as a chain, following his thrusting attacks, so you must watch for these, too. 

Healing

If you’re hurt, healing can be tricky. For instance, you must wait until Ordovis’ Stomping Combo ends before healing. Otherwise, try to sprint away and heal. Once you’re far away, most of their attacks won’t affect you. 

The Proper Moveset

Mastering the proper moveset is essential to finish this battle once and for all. You must attack when they launch theirs, or you’ll get defeated, and it’s game over. 

For Ordovis, here’s what to keep in mind:

  • Stomp
  • Stomping Combo
  • Diagonal Slash
  • Double Diagonal Slash
  • Dragging Slash
  • Slash Slash Stab
  • Triple Slash
  • Lunging Stab
  • Whirlwind Slam
  • Shield Bash

That’s for the first phase. For the second phase for Ordovis, take note of the Flying Plunge and Tail Sweep.

For the other guy, remember the following:

  • Stomp
  • Horizontal Slash
  • Double Slash
  • Triple Slash Combo
  • Stab and Slash
  • Spear Drill 
  • Stab
  • Running Stab

PVP Live is talking about the official release date. Media outlets reported the series is coming to you this spring of 2025. What a way to look forward to the New Year!

Returning to the story is Joel Miller, the guy tasked with guiding and protecting Ellie through the pandemic-stricken world of “The Last of Us.” However, he isn’t just your ordinary support character. He has secrets and interesting stories from his past that you’ll get to know in this discussion. 

Sarah’s Loss Transformed Miller Into A Violent Person

Sarah is Joel’s teenage daughter in the story. However, she eventually died untimely, which turned the father into a completely savage, different person. From a loving dad, he turned into a monstrous and cruel hunter who made no hesitations about taking innocent people’s lives only to survive. 

You can see this in one scene featuring Joel and Ellie, wherein they stumble upon a wounded guy begging for help. Recognizing the same tactic he used to use as a hunter, Joel tells Ellie that the man is actually a hunter and wasn’t wounded, stepping on the gas pedal. Then, to grieve for the loss of his daughter, Joel also became a bit suicidal. Yikes.

However, While Still Alive, Sarah Gave Him A Heartfelt Present

There’s this superstition within families that giving a watch as a gift will ruin the time the other person has for you. However, Sarah did not see it that way when she gave his father a watch on his birthday. Goosebumps, it’s the other way around. Avid “The Last of Us” fans know that just a few hours after the gift-giving, Sarah’s life did not turn out well. His daughter was murdered on the highway when they flew there after the heartfelt moment between the two of them.

He Once Worked As A Carpenter With His Younger Brother, Tommy

Joel, obviously, isn’t your typical billionaire or rich guy. He had to make ends meet, so he worked as a carpenter with his brother, Tommy. It was confirmed in the first “The Last of Us” scene when Joel spoke with his brother, saying he wanted to keep his job even if he wasn’t totally happy about it anymore. As a carpenter, he helped build several statues and guitars, one of which was given to Ellie.

If there is a heroic father, that would be Miller. Sarah’s mother left them early on, so he single-handedly raised Sarah. Despite this absence of a mother figure, the two had a perfect family setup until the virus struck their hometown. The dad would bring Sarah to trek and watch her soccer games as a real proud father. If only Sarah did not die, right?

So, who was Sarah’s mom, then? It is interesting to look at this as part of the journey to Joel’s past. In the game original, this detail was never unveiled, not even her name, except for clues of her “photographs” near Sarah’s bed and when he told Ellie they were “married for a while.” Interestingly enough, Joel could share some tidbits about his wife with the viewers and gamers, but the story of “The Last of Us” chose not to.
