In real-life, killers are people you’d want to catch and bring to prison as much as possible, especially when they have the blood of other people in their hands. In the trending online survival-horror game “Dead by Daylight,” there are also Killers who commit evil acts.
Killers in “Dead by Daylight” are tasked by The Entity, the almighty malevolent being, to help them hunt down and sacrifice every Survivor out there before they can even escape. To achieve this, Killers must patrol areas and find Survivors, then chase, injure, and catch them before they can escape, and hang them over a Hook as a sacrifice for The Entity to consume. Creeps at their finest.
But getting to know these Killers in this game is what makes it exciting, isn’t it? So, here are the top Killers you can play with in “Dead by Daylight.”
1. The Nurse
A nurse who kills? That’s terrifying. Undoubtedly, the Nurse is the most potent Killer in “Dead by Daylight.” Wearing a nurse outfit (of course), but that from the Victorian era, maybe? – and with seemingly a face mask literally a face mask covering its entire face. The Nurse just needs to blink to teleport even across long distances. She feels free to charge against any Survivor messing up with her.
With her teleportation capability, she can patrol every corner of the map to thwart Survivors from completing their objectives, such as escaping. There’s no denying The Nurse is the toughest Killer in the game, so if you manage to beat them, what a relief.
2. The Spirit
It’s not yet the spirit of Christmas, so this must be the spirit of Halloween. Also referred to as the “Ghost Simulator,” this undead lady showcases her Phase Walk superpower, wherein she can turn invisible and navigate through other areas of the map. If The Nurse blinks to teleport, the Spirit isn’t seen while traveling. This makes it easier for her to ambush Survivors before they even realize she’s there. Scary, scarier, scariest.
3. The Xenomorph
By the way, in “Dead by Daylight,” each Killer has their Killer perks that enhance their capabilities, giving them advantages in battles. The perks of the Xenomorph are what make them great. These can either buff you up or negate the status effects. For instance, the Alien Instinct can make a Suvivor’s aura more visible and Oblivious after getting Hooked. There’s also Rapid Brutality that speeds up basic attacks and keeps Bloodlust from transpiring.
But above all, take your grip on Ultimate Weapon, which can make Survivors near all Lockers you open scream and turn them blind. These perks are useful for other Killers, too, not just the Xenomorph.
4. Blight
Alright, not every Killer can chase Survivors who are running for their lives, but Blight does this perfectly well. His greatest power, Blighted Corruption, sends this Killer in a top-speed rush across various surfaces, making his movements very unpredictable yet precise when running after survivors and striking from the most unexpected spots.
So this makes Blight unbelievably mobile, quick, and aggressive. He also has the Lethal Rush capability, and once you master this, there’s no stopping this Killer. He works well with many meta perks, so he is a nightmare dressed as a… nightmare.
5. The Doctor
If there’s The Nurse, there’s the Doctor. Unlike The Nurse, the Doctor isn’t afraid of showing his face, making only the genuinely sadistic players with the guts to play this character. He can electrocute Survivors and inflict the Madness effect, prompting Survivors to divulge their location through screaming. And it doesn’t end there. It also gives them hallucinations of the Doctor, giving this Killer multi-purpose moves. Survivors can get away from these and cure themselves by completing the Snap Out of It skill check, but the Doctor will tell you, “It’s complicated.”
6. The Executioner
The Executioner is the perfect Killer to play for new “Dead by Daylight” gamers. His Punishment of the Damned is capable of dealing damage within an Attack Trail and hit several Survivors. Using the Executioner, you may also leave a Torment Trail that inflicts what else? Torment on Suvivors. A Survivor Tormented places them in a Cage of Atonement. Otherwise, you can immediately use the Final Judgment power to execute a Survivor who has either been hooked twice and is afflicted with Torment (or has been caged two times). These do not even include yet the Great Knife and Trail of Torment unique perk that puts the story in another perspective. See them for yourself.
7. Oni
Oni may not be the number one Killer, but he is probably the most manipulative. His specialty is forcing Survivors to play a game they cannot even win because of Oni’s powers. Thus, injured Survivors leave blood orbs behind for this Killer to collect and use to charge up Yamaoka’s Wrath. Once activated, this allows Oni to charge into a frenzy, like Super Saiyan, right? Then, knock down survivors with a single blow.
For players using Oni, it’s difficult to bring him under your control when he’s already using Yamaoka’s Wrath. More so, Survivors move to use this against him. However, Oni can use his blows to break pallets and move quickly around the map. His power is death sentence for the Survivors.
When playing “Dead by Daylight,” you are encouraged to explore through each Killer and see how different they are from each other. You’ll love it. You’ll love the gore, the brutality, and the penchant to, well, kill.
From the Canadian studio Behaviour Interactive, “Dead by Daylight” is an online asymmetric multiplayer survival horror game that’s a one-versus-four video game where you take on the role of the killer and the other four play as Survivors. Aside from being so trivial, it puts “role-playing” into the most literal sense. Now, the Killer should track and impale each Survivor on sacrificial hooks to appease The Entity. Meanwhile, the Survivors must prevent getting caught and power up the exit games by teaming up to five generators. So you won’t just kill, but you will think too. Try it to believe it.
