Butterflies were not given that much of a spotlight in the “Harry Potter” movies and novels. PVP Live means that butterflies may fly around the wizarding world, but they are not the main events. In the “Harry Potter”-inspired video game “Hogwarts Legacy,” butterflies are the main cast members. Well, sort of. There’s a side quest called the Follow the Butterflies in this game, and here is how you can complete them.
How To Complete The Side Quest
To launch the side quest, proceed to Hogsmeade and talk to Clementine Willardsey. You can find her in The Three Broomsticks, where she will ask you to follow butterflies deep into the legendary Forbidden Forest.
To get the Flower Box reward, you must find out where the butterflies are going. Via the Floo Network, travel to the Forbidden Forest fast travel point, then proceed north from there to find the butterflies. You will find the butterflies in purple, orange, and red colors. As you approach them, they’ll start to move, of course.
Now, follow the butterflies as they descend the stream and travel along the path. After all, the side quest is named “Follow the Butterflies.”
Then, a Dugbog and poachers will also traverse the path, but you can avoid fighting them if you follow the butterflies while on your broom. Just keep following them until you spot a box. Now, loot this box, then return to Willardsey at The Three Broomsticks. You will have to let her know what happened. Tell her you found the treasure and say there was nothing inside.
Where To Find All Butterfly Chests
Now, part of this side quest is collecting Butterfly Chests as your activity. However, note that this part of the quest is not a pre-requisite for you to complete the quest, but if you wish to, here are the locations of all Butterfly Chests in “Hogwarts Legacy”:
- North Fod Bog
- Forbidden Forest
- Hogsmeade Valley
- North Hogwarts
- South Hogwarts
- Hogwarts Valley
- Feldcroft Region
- Poidsear Coast
- Clagmar Coast
You have encountered those locations from the previous guides here on this website, so you shouldn’t find it too hard to get to them.
Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games, “Hogwarts Legacy” takes place over a century before the events in the “Harry Potter” movies and books. You control a wizarding student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who learns to wield a vast array of magical abilities and objects. With the help of fellow students and professors, you embark on a journey to uncover this ancient secret concealed in the Wizarding World. It is running on Unreal Engine 4.
Experience “Hogwarts Legacy” on Sony’s PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
