The NBA 2K Twitter account handed away a 24K gold PlayStation 5 worth over $10,000 in a promotional message for their upcoming game. The tweet was sent on the same day that NBA 2K22, the latest iteration in the franchise, was launched.
Sega Sports first released NBA 2K in 1999, and it was released in yearly editions until 2004. Annual releases continued under the new publisher following the sale and creation of 2K Sports. Luka Doni of the Dallas Mavericks is on the cover of the 22nd version of the famous basketball video game.
Following its release last year, the PS5, PlayStation’s current generation, is still in great demand. Despite the fact that the PS5 was released in November of 2020, it is still difficult to get due to a halt in part manufacturing and scalpers who resale the devices at inflated rates.
A 16-year-old made $1.7 million using PS5s and Pokémon cards, for example. A PS5 sweepstakes is impressive, but NBA 2K has gone above and beyond by giving away a golden edition of the rare system.
Contestants had to log on to their Twitter accounts and react to NBA 2k’s tweet using the hashtags #2KDay and #Sweepstakes to win the golden PS5. The sweepstakes, on the other hand, was only open for a limited time.
The deadline for entries was between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. PST. According to the official terms and conditions on NBA 2K’s website, the offer was exclusively open to residents of the United States. The PlayStation is made of 24-carat gold and is valued at $10,407.

On September 16, 2021, the winner will be contacted and given five days to collect their reward. By the end of the contest, NBA 2K’s tweet had received over 10,000 reactions. NBA 2K’s Twitter account continued to promote the new game by offering more prizes to win during the first day.
Copies of the new game, virtual money, and special editions were all on the table, demonstrating that the golden PS5 wasn’t the only eye-catching reward. The Twitter account was also giving away autographed jerseys from superstars like Shaq and Kobe Bryant, very costly goods that a game business seldom gives away.
On September 10, 2021, NBA 2K22 was published globally on “2K Day,” according to NBA 2K’s Twitter account. New additions include 17 new badges and a shot meter for players to try out. A golden PS5 will be given to one lucky gamer who will get to try out these features.
