Just a few days after Season 2 ended, Netflix confirmed that a third season for “Perfect Match” is underway. Though short-lived and while others said it was “boring,” airing only 10 episodes squeezed from June 7th to June 21st, this second season ranked in the Global Top 10 for TV three weeks following its premiere earlier this month. It was successful.
“Perfect Match” is the top-rating unscripted dating reality series on Netflix, one of the world’s biggest streaming platforms. In the show, singles from the platform’s popular reality shows, such as “Love is Blind” and “Too Hot to Handle,” team up as couples and go through the fire to test their relationships.
The participants engage in compatibility challenges. Winning couples are bestowed power. If they are, they bring in new singles and match them with their castmates. This either stirs up potential romantic matches or creates trouble in paradise or the “Perfect Match” villa. These couples compete to be the strongest and win the title of the Perfect Match.
Over the stars of the show, perhaps the biggest highlight of Season 2 was the fact it was hosted by none other than 98 Degrees lead singer Nick Lachey, who has hosted shows in the past such as NBC’s “The Sing-Off,” “Miss USA,” and Nickelodeon’s “America’s Most Musical Family,” among others.
Now, here’s some good news for “Perfect Match” fans. A brand-new third season is coming your way. Yes.
There is no official release date yet, which is normal since the announcement was just made recently. But considering the gap between the first two seasons, it is likely that you’ll see Season 3 in 2025 at the most.
Some media outlets also doubt if Lachey will reprise his role as host for Season 3 since he has so many projects lined up by the time the upcoming season is filmed.
As for the cast, we can only base news on scenes during the previous seasons. For instance, Harry Jowsey, a YouTuber who competed in Season 2 but lost, suggested his pal Justin be part of the show.
Then, there’s Xanthi, who also didn’t manage to win but expressed her desire to return to the villa and offered Emma from “Love is Blind: UK” to join her.
Fans are also bringing up the name of Amber Desiree from “Love is Blind” to participate in Season 3.
